... the place in the decorations. After our tour, we decided to walk/hike up to the bridge where we could see a lot of people taking photos. It was well worth it as the view is most likely the same one that we saw in all the photos-the leaves were just starting to change color and in a couple more weeks would have been spectacular. They were still great colors now, though. After our 7 Euro parking fee!, we saw a night of canned food ...
Füssen, Bavaria, Germany armajor7... the town on the main street and into information. We headed back out and we did find the camp ground. This one is not in our English book, it has 900+ spaces, a lot of permanent campers, is situated on a little lake, good for wind surfing or canoeing. It was quite pretty here and by the time we finished our super the sun was shining and it was a beautiful evening.
We played cross crib. We keep track of winners and Len ...

The rest of the tour took us to Linderhof castle and Neuschwanstein castle. What magical looking places they were. Neuschwanstein is the castle Walt Disney uses the sillohette of at the start of his movies. Anyway, after the trip it was back to Munich for a day or so and then on the plane home.
... hot.... sweet.... dark.... chocolate", but he didn't give us any historical background to the castles we were visiting. We discovered later that the upstairs part of the bus allowed customers to plug in headphones and listen to recordings of actually *relevant* information in one of many languages, although not English. That, of course, explains why no one sat on the first floor of the bus. While they all happily listened away to the recordings, Molly ...
Schwangau, Bavaria, Germany brikis98... to let him know when we would arrive in Stuttgart. He offered to pick up my room key for me and to meet us at the train station at 9pm. Our adventure was not quite over yet. We stopped back to our lovely Hotel Bavaria in Garmisch to pick up our luggage, then took a train to Munich. From there, we had a ticket on an ICE (intercity express) train to Stuttgart but had no seat reservations. You can imagine our frantic search for seats and a place for all our luggage on the extremely busy ...

Now a Lutheran church, this church's other "claim to fame" is that it was Bertolt Brecht's church when he was a child. He was baptized and confirmed here. Although Brecht later became a "confirmed" atheist and communist, the Bible permeates his work. In his play "Galileo," one scene has dialogue consisting entirely of Bible verses. A major reason Brecht rejected Christianity was that the church of his time ...

Schwangau, Germany aaronvdbAnother work conference for my parents brought us to Oberammergau for a week. We stayed in the cutest little wooden cottage - like the whole thing ceiling to floor and including flowering window boxes was made out of wood! Totally picturesque like you've read about in Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Aromatic town bakery. Absolutely enchanting.
Oberamergau, Bavaria, Germany lolly... gorgeous and the views of it and from it are breathtaking.
After our tour we drove to Kempten and stayed at the Peterhof downtown. This was our first room with a tv...all German stations, of course!
We went by car to Mittenwald and got at room at the Hotel Post. It was a nice room, but very narrow. It reminded me of a train compartment. There was a hail storm and it was rainy and cloudy. I bought ...
