Die Lorelei

A travel blog entry by hendrikus1952

Today I left St Roar early in the morning!
Comperable to yesterday along the Rhine up to Bingen.
Shortly after St Roar I was expected to see Die Lorelei but after consultation of a man walking with his dog, he said, you passed it already a few km ago. OK, I'm sure she will not do me any harm.

Easy going ! Only flat parcours. However it was bloody hot. At some parts the cycle path was next to the road, no shadow. Temperature > 35C. To be safe you had to jump from shadow to shadow with distances of 3 to 4 km.

There is not so much to say of this day. So you better look at the nice pictures !

Fortunately, the other wine maker, who spoke ...

After lunch, those up to it, headed out for a tour of Marksburg Castle. The road up for the busses was quite narrow ...

We also walked around the St. Martin's Cathedral. (Mainzer Dom) It was very impressive! The high ceiling was supported by large columns engraved with portraits and words. For stone carvings, the detail ...
