Historical Traveler Reviews of Wakulla Suites Cocoa Beach
Beautiful, peaceful, fun for anyone...

The Wakulla is a family, and personal favorite of mine. I love the beautiful gardens, the outdoor grills and picnic tables give it a home like feel. You can hear exotic birds in the trees, fruit is growing in the lush growth above your head. Absolutely beautiful place to stay.
Its not a 5 star resort though. But thats why I love it. No stuffy lobbys or any of the stuff you usually get when staying in a regualar hotel, this is definetly an experience worth having!
Never again

Thank goodness for a place to complain about Wakulla Motel. Our room was first floor by the pool and on the weekends they "brought in" the local bar and pub along with all of the bikers and babes and partied until 3am in the morning. So much for their "family hotel"theme. What a load of crap. We loved Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon Surf Shop but will never, ever stay at Wakulla again. By the way AAA changed their rankings from AAA to AA for the 2003 year. In my opinion they should have given it a A.
An excellent place to stay!!

We first stayed at the Wakulla in 1992. When we first drove up, we thought, what have we gotten ourselves into!! It ended up being the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. We try to go there every year now. The rooms are a very nice size, with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. The pool is wonderful as well. It's gotten crowded in the past years, but we still enjoy staying there and wouldn't stay anywhere else!!
Lousy accomodations

Just returned from Cocoa Beach. Spent our last night there at the Wakulla. What a mistake- the front desk neglected to inform us that a family reunion of about 40 people would be congregating right outside of our door (complete with electric guitars, amps, and plenty of horrible singing that went on until almost 1:00 a.m.) When we complained to the front desk, they said that they were "sorry, but this is a family motel". I could go on about the overall dirtiness, especially in the kitchen-which looked like it had been last cleaned and updated in 1972. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here.
Most exotic place around

Wakulla motel is simply the best place to spend your vacation in cocoa beach. With the many different exotic plants and even animals, it is absolute paradise. All the years i have been comming here i have been treated with the great hospitality time and time again. And with it being so close to some of cocoa beaches greatest attractions it makes it the perfect place to spend your time at cocoa beach
I'd rather sleep on the beach!

I just stayed here for my Spring Break and I have to say what a terrible place this was. The room was dirty, there were ants in the kitchen when we arrived, the AC barely worked, and the security gaurd who is on night duty was a jerk. Since when has it become a crime to go to your car at 11PM to get some clothes out? According to him my behavior was "Suspicious and questionable." In all honesty, I'd rather sleep on the beach in the sand. At least there it would me cool instead of muggy like it was in my room. Heck, the sand would be more comfortable than those stiff beds. In my opinion, I'd say stay away. Plenty of other great places are around.

IF your looking for a sweatty place with no working air conditioning and bad hospitality service than this is the place for you!...... the wakulla offers very little parking for its tendants. It has termite infested rooms and beds as hard as cement! So please come to the Wakulla!
Wakulla-fantastic!

We have been going to Cocoa Beach for over 20 years and a stay in Cocoa Beach wouldn't be complete without staying at the Wakulla! The atmosphere is friendly and the tropical gardens are the best I've ever seen. We wouldn't go to Cocoa Beach unless we could stay at Wakulla.

The Wakulla Motel is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Our family has stayed at this motel for over 30 years and love every minute of it! From the tropical courtyard, wonderful pool and to the close proximity of the beach and attractions, you can't go wrong! We LOVE the Wakulla!!!!

The courtyard is the heart of the Wakulla Motel. Covered with lush vegetation, and Fruit trees {lime and mango), well maintained and quiet. Large suites, with full kitchens. All at a very reasonable price. I am sure you will enjoy your stay as much as we do. I travel with groups of friends, we visited in May of 2001. And we are booked to return 12 April 2002. Treat yourself to a really nice place to stay without the outragous cost. Enjoy!!
