Driving out of Taupo to the south there was a road sign indicating whether several major roads were open or closed. In Colorado this would be a weather issue. That brings us to my current location - Taupo. On our way here the stop off was at a Maori run volcanic garden and village where you can see the students chosen to study old Moari crafts like wood carving and weaving working away in their workshops. We then got to watch as our guide cooked eggs for us in a hot spring and ate them under a 20m erupting Geyser - not exactly your average monday morning!
