... There isn't much in the town, it's very much a tourist spot with lots of cafés etc. They certainly came in handy when the rain came on. After exploring the area (and the cheese shop - ridiculous pictures attached) we stopped in a cafe for refreshments while enjoying the view out over the harbour. We also had a fantastic spot for people watching. One thing we saw was a Chinese woman being ******* on by a bird. Rather amusing for us and ...

... liked at least! Although a lot of it was raw fish and biscuits, which turned Daniel off a bit. I tried some, even some herring, and it wasn't so bad. Plus they kept bringing beer. The most amazing thing of the day though was seeing a Dutch house, seeing how Wil and Bep operate and live, and realising just how much it was like Oma and Opa from what I remember growing up. They don't want your pity and they don't feel they have a job they need to be saved from. They want your ...

... Big city sensory overload! I loved it. Teal thinks it would be great to live there but a visit was perfect for me. We detoured through Nordwijk to meet Eric and Margo for a wonderful dinner at the Seagull restaurant right on the beach. The girls and I had to go touch the North Sea just to say we did, but it was hardly beach weather for a Floridian (about 50 degrees). After a quick stop by their house, we headed back home to ...

After a sleep-in, we caught the tram to the Rijksmuseum. We are staying at the Westcord City Centre Hotel and it is in a fantastic spot, about halfway between Amsterdam Centraal train station and the Dam. The tram stop for the tram is about 200 m from the hotel, bonus! I'm SO GLAD I bought Holland Passes for each of us before we came to Holland. The queues for Rijksmuseum tickets were huge, but because we had our vouchers, we could use ...
