Historical Traveler Reviews of Wagon Wheel Village Jackson

Great Western Ambiance and Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed here on one of the nights of our 5 night Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation. The all-timber room was small by cosmopolitan Marriott standards, but cozy and warm and delightfully rustic. We had a thermostat controlled gas fireplace, which added to the allure.

The lobby was an eyeful, and the great Indian Trader style gift shop has wonderful items and better souvenir prices than a few blocks downtown. We couldn't leave without the jackalope mount to augment the decor in our own lodge-style living room back home.

The landscaping is meticulously maintained and there's a lovely bench back by the Snake River where you can sit in the morning with a cup of coffee (as we did).

We checked a lot of the smaller downtown hotels in Jackson, and this one had the most Western flair for our money. And it's just a short stagger back from the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.

Loved the Creek View & Location!

from BackHomeCt
Booked 3 rooms here for 2 nights and could not be HAPPIER with our choice. We had stayed here years ago in the older units, and they were pretty Ok, but was looking for something a bit updated with out costing a fortune. When I was trying to make reservations (back in Mar) had called several other places and they were booked already. SOOO, back to Wagon Wheel and more info on the suites by the creek. Sounded nice over the phone, but we were all thrilled when we arrived in Aug. on vacation. All 3 rooms were in the same building which holds 4 rooms. Huge rooms with 2 beds, table &chairs, mini fridge, microwave. Lots of light and lovely deck to sit out on with a grassy lawn in front, down to the creek. Very soundproof. It was a perfect spot for being in Jackson. We could walk to town and our rooms were far back on the well kept property. Would come back to these suites, in a heartbeat! Great gals working at the front desk too!

I have stayed here with my family several times and absolutely love it! It has a great location to town and the park and I believe it is a great value for the price.

We Liked It!

from cinncitraveler
Jackson has a ton of terrible hotels with expensive prices, so in that context this was a pretty decent place. Our room smelled a little like smoke, and the shower was tiny, but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We got a good nights sleep. The hotel is about 1/4 mile north of downtown (walking distance). The hotel includes a fascinating lobby, gift shop next door, and a restaurant. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was very good. I'd recommend this place.

Excellent stay at their two bedroom condos

from RicardoCarrollton_TX
Their two bedroom condos aren't advertised well on their site but they are fantastic. We stayed there for three nites and we all enjoyed them. Amenities not listed where: gas grill, washer and dryer inside the lodge and high speed internet via DSL. The units also have direct numbers.

Very spacious and well maintained.

It's away from their core cluster of cabins but that's a plus in my opinion. Just across the street from the Snow King resort.

Watch out for the reservation cancellation fee!

from A TripAdvisor Member
I made a reservation at Wagon Wheel Village several weeks ago and then cancelled the reservation earlier this week. I don't know that I was notified when I made the reservation that there was a cancellation fee, but when I called to cancel I was not notified. Imagine my surprise when I was charged $10 to my credit card without my knowledge. When I called to ask about this I was told that when I made the reservation I was notified of the cancellation fee. I mentioned that they could have reminded me when I cancelled the reservation that I'd be charged. There was no apology made and the woman I spoke with (she had an accent) told me to have a wonderful day and then she hung up on me. I called back again and spoke with the manager and she said that I should have been reminded of the cancellation fee and that she'd credit my account for the $10.

Best hidden treasure in Jackson

What a great place to stay. I have stayed in several motels thoughout Jackson but this is my favorite. It is a little village where everything is made of log, big old cottonwood trees, flowers and wildlife walks through the property. COZY place.

The staff is very informative, walking distance to the downtown area, bar and food on grounds, and just minutes to the park.

Highly recommend this place. It is only a three star motel but I would definately rate it a 5 star. Especially the newer rooms by the river.

A+ place to stay.

Wonderful cabins on the creek

from staves
This Village is a must when venturing to Jackson, the staff were so imformative about the area and things to see and do, the cabins are full of real western charm, very clean.

The grounds are beautiful abundant flowers and large trees, benches to sit on the gardens to relax.

I will be back again, thanks Wagon Wheel.

WESTERN COZY

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed @ the Wagon Wheel July 2004 and found it to be exactually what we had hoped. It was medium priced, and had a good rustic western flare. The brochure says cabins and that's what it is,but more upbeat, coffeemaker in the room and modern shower. The grounds were colorful and quiet, yet only a few blocks from downtown. This is where we would want to stay again if we get to return to Jackson.

Pass on Wagon Wheel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I was disappointed at my stay at the Wagon Wheel Village. There appear to be some upgraded rooms that are reserved by travel companies and older rooms that are allocated to other visitors. The hot water pressure was non existent and the room appeared old and worn. I would recommend another place to stay.
