It's tough trying to think of Christmas trees or menorahs when summer
is just beginning but, now is the time to book your holiday cruise if
you haven't already done so. There are some excellent buys out there
during these tough economic times and, Cunard happens to be one of the
"buys".

Jazz on the Park hostel had a cool vibe with its ground floor cafe regularly playing movies & pumping out trance music & a subterranean lower common room with an assortment of diner benches, tables & chairs. It wasn't the best-kept place in the world but by New York standards it was ridiculously cheap & turned out to be a great place to meet people & make new friends. The first proper one of these was an English girl ...

Simon: IT'S FOOTBALL TIME!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Ok, so Sunday was NFL Kickoff Weekend, and after 8 long months football was back, and we went to see the Giants vs Redskins at Giants Stadium, which is a massive rivalry. It was buzzing and the ...

Gonna chill and have an early night. Some new girls have moved into my room today, haven't met them yet. It's now raining for the first time since I've been here, it's still hot though which is good.
So far my impressions of New York are that it's a pretty immense City, however everybody is very loud and very rude. Better get used to it though eh.
... both showed interest, I decided to inquire more about the deal, still thinking this was all hypothetical. The original itinerary was for 4 nights in Cape Town and 2 nights on safari. This seemed like an awfully short amount of time considering we would be flying in airplanes for 40 hours (this does not include time in airports). However, after hundreds of emails with Doreen, the rep from SAA Vacations, we extended ...

Ellis Island immigration station officially opened its doors on January 1, 1892 and closed on November 29, 1954. Ellis Island processed some 12 million immigrants during that time. The opening of Ellis Island also allowed for tighter immigration laws which required further questioning and medical examinations prior to admittance. The island has its own ...
New York City, New York, United States gra8ful... past and knowing everything that had happened there. It was really hard to believe actually looking at it. But i will go back and see it on foot, so that will be good in a weird way, but you know what i mean. I was really tired on the bus so I just chilled out listening to my ipod and rested my eyes. It was relaxing. We had to catch the yellow school bus from Haverford College where the others were dropped off so we still had another 20mins to go after that, and one of my ...
New York City, New York, United States tonestar... if the 'rain' is power failure at 6 miles above the ground, then the 'pouring' would involve oxygen masks and a lethal descent into an early grave. As you might have gathered we arrived at JFK in one peice, in a little shook up and jumped in a taxi to the Latham Hostel where we stayed for our six nights in the Big Apple. New york was great and we throughly enjoyed ourselves, but i think coming from London takes ...
New York City, New York, United States rumpy1984... tour or it can get a little tedious. On the Uptown Tour get off at Strawberry Fields, the Guggenheim, and the Plaza so you can ride the horsie ride or go to the Apple Store. On the Downtown Tour you can hit the Empire State Building, Ground Zero, and Battery Park for the Statue of Liberty ferry. It's a nice walk along the river from the World Financial Center to Battery Park if you don't have a 3 year old with you (a mistake we made.) Most concierges seem to offer discounted ...
New York City, New York, United States scrabubblySadly, my trip in South America is coming to an end. I am now en route to New York, from Ecuador, via Columbia and Lima! then back to London, where I am joining my brother and his girlfriend on a 3 week trip around the UK, seeing all the parts I didnīt get to see during my 4 years there. After that who knows! am thinking of returning to ...
