If you are ready for great music, great shops, and extraordinary people then head to the big apple! It's a wonderful time to let loose and enjoy the bright lights and big eyes of the aspiring starlets. To add to the already thrilling adventure we took a quick detour from our new found city lives and went the John Mayer concert in Bethel Woods. …

Such a big city .. and so little time … why so busy??? I got up earlyish today, as I wanted to do my blog, and have to go down to the lobby where the wifi is free, (we didn't want to pay for it in our room). When Nicci came down to take over with the computer, I popped off to the local deli and Starbucks to buy us breakfast and coffee, and …

Our booking for our tour to the crown on the top of the Statue of Liberty was for 11, so we went down to the ferry area by subway. The subway is about two blocks away, so is very convenient. The queue was minimal at the jetty, and we just had to pick up our prepaid ticket. Only 240 people go up to the crown per day, so we were part of a very elite …

Boy, our flight was so early this morning, 8.40, that we had to leave the house at 6.15 . Pete pulled the short straw, and was the one that had to take us to the airport. We had such a happy time in Toronto. There is nothing quite like family.

When we got to the airport, the Air Canada lady told us that we were only waitlisted on the plane …

The city that never sleeps!

... us standing around looking like tourists!
When withdrawing money in the USA every bank charges $3 we worked this out after going around the city trying to find one that didn't (that was fun) get cash back when buying things and there is no charge!
finally if you want to be clean, wash your hair every day. After half a day in the city I washed mine and the water literally ran black! Yummy!

    W is for Wonderful

    from

Just spent 4 nights over Christmas at the W Tuscany. It was wonderful. The room is spacious and quiet (we were in room 509, facing back side) The decor and style was dark, bold and simple. Bed had big fluffy pillows and feather bed and comforter. Bathroom had Bliss toiletries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is 3 blocks from Grand Central where you can catch the subway, and about a 15 min walk from 5th Ave/Rockefeller Center area. Cabs can be easily hailed from the front door. It was a great location. Would definitely stay here again on future trip.

    Loved it!

    from

Recently stayed at the hotel in November. Loved my room, very big, great service, excellent location, try to get a room on the 15th floor, or another room with a balcony. Basically you can open the windows and crawl out onto the balcony...

    Good place to stay

    from

My husband and I stayed at the Tuscany for a few nights in September. The hotel is in a great location - we were able to walk to most of our destinations. Although the lobby and hallways are a bit dark and uninviting, our room was fabulous. Very spacious, especially for NY standards, the bed was plush and comfortable, and the bathroom had a ton of fun amenities, including Bliss toiletries. We also had a fantastic view of the Chrysler building and a little ledge to step out onto. If you are looking for a trendy, comfortable stay for a decent price in NY, this is it.

    Great time

    from

Just returned from a great four night stay at the W Hotel - The Tuscany. Good size room with super view of the Chrysler Building. Concierge and reception staff all helpful - particularly Shane and Nova. Very good location too - ideal for spending time both up-town and in the Village. Blooms Deli is just around the corner too on Lexington, so ideal for breakfast if you want to eat out (the option otherwise is breakfast at W Hotel - The Court just down the street.) Taxis readily available from out front. A couple of blocks walk from Morgans if you are also interested in Schraeger hotels. All in all, a good "W experience" at The Tuscany. I've already booked my next trip there, so proof positive.

    Loved the W Tuscany

    from

If you are looking for a great NYC hotel experience, look no further than the W Tuscany. The rooms are huge and the bed was HEAVENLY! The whole atmoshere of the hotel is chic, relaxing, and cool. It was great to be away from all the chaos/noise of the city, but it's still in a great location - steps away from Grand Central and many other great spots - the diner around the corner (Scotty's) was excellent.

The Tuscany - Great service, great room, great location

    from

The Tuscany is in an ideal location for exploring Manhattan - in Midtown and just two blocks from Grand Central Station. We had a very friendly reception from the desk staff, who were able to accommodate all our requests and organised complimentary drinks and breakfasts. Despite my fears about NYC room size, ours was huge, the bed was very comfortable (essential when you are pounding the streets and museums from dawn till dusk) and the view over the Chrysler Building was spectacular. We couldn't have been more satisfied.

    Love the W!

    from

The W Tuscany is a wonderfull hotel. My husband and I spent a long weekend there right before Christmas 2003. The room is HUGE(NY standards)! The decor is very modern and chic (chocolate brown, deep red, and black), yet it is very comfortable. The location is awesome!

It is on a not-so-busy street wich is really nice for noisy NYC street noise, and we walked everywhere. We loved our stay here and would definitely return.

    Very W Indeed

    from

very W. my wife and i came to NYC for the first time in november and stayed at the tuscany and loved it. we are very particular about cleanliness and service and this hotel was exceptional at both. then with all of the other amenities that W offers its really worth it. we had a corner room with a view of the esb from one window and the chrysler from the other. very spacious, modern, relaxing. staff is very knowledgable and easy to talk to. the bar at THE COURT was more happening. we were glad that the tuscany was in a quiet neighborhood as we had contemplated the W times square, but it was nice to be able to get away from the crowds. the location was easy to get to anywhere. will stay here again!!!

    Beyond Expectation!

    from

My husband and I just celebrated our 1st anniversary in NYC. We stayed at the W Tuscany and were very impressed by everything. A very stylish boutique hotel, the W was staffed by very beautiful but incredibly nice people. The room was HUGE by NYC standards and was very comfortable too. We were away from the street so the room was quiet and we had a view of the Empire State Building from our window. The hotel even sent up complimentary champagne for our anniversary! If you are planning a splurge, the Tuscany is worth it.

    The W - Tuscany

    from

The W is a striking hotel it is two buildings doors from each other, one is the W Court and the other is W Tuscany. One has a gym and the other has a restaurant. I stayed in a Spectacular room at the Court on the 3rd floor, there was an air conditioning unit which made a lot of noise than it kept dying and coming back to life, may sound funny but kept me awake half the night. The room was dark the colour scheme is dark red, brown and gold, there were 4 lamps and no ceiling lights. It had a huge bed which was very comfy and spare foam pillows for those allergic to feather. We had a nice sized wardrobe and a huge vanity/desk area. The bathroom was a good size with a big sink the Aveda bath products smelled good. The CD player was a nice touch. The staff is very friendly and happy to lend a hand. The gym has lots of machines and is open 24/7. The restaurant has a well-rounded menu and a peach cobbler which is irresistible. The telephone has a 'When-ever/where-ever' button which guarantees you what ever you want at any time and the hotel also has a superb concierge.
