I didn't know who to feel more sorry for - if someone deleted my whole album of travel photos I think I would die, but also for him because he literally didn't know what hit him - such a simple mistake. Jason especially felt his pain as said to me straight away I'm so glad I've never done that to you. This is also the exact reason why I've backed up my photos about three times.

I couldn’t see the memorial as it is has a high wall around it and you have to pre order tickets on the net, which I didn’t know about. So I decided to sit and take in the atmosphere and figure where to go next as the weather was shocking, really windy and ******* it with rain. I decided to walk down ...

Historical Traveler Reviews St Giles Hotel - The Court New York New York City
W - The Court, simply spectacular!
Stayed at the W Hotel - The Court over this Easter weekend and wow! The hotel is excellent, probably the best l've stayed at in New York. My "spectacular room" was actually that, spectacular, it was huge - it had a walk in closet! The hotel bar was cool (although the drinks were expensive) the restaurant (icon) was excellent, and the service for our group dinner on the first night was top class. All the staff were so polite and very helpful.... l don't think l will ever look to stay anywhere else in New York but The Court hotel.
My birthday weekend
i'd like to thank everyone who wrote reviews as on looing at them we decided to stay in w the court for my birthday feb 29 04 well what can i say but WOW the hotel was fantastic , the rooms were fab large .clean and what a view we had of empire state ,ask for a room not on the main road.As someone put on the review we registered on the starwood site to become a starwood preferred guest and got upgraded immediately to a spectacular room .the staff could not do enough for us and was very personal. I would recommend this hotel or any w hotel. We also went to look at union square w that also looks fab and staff were great there too
Comfy beds! Stylish!
Just got back from NYC - spent three nights here due to a "3 for the price of 2" night deal.
Abient lighting does not even begin to describe it. It is seemingly dim everywhere in this hotel, but it adds to its character. We had a "spectacular" room due to preferred customer status (applied online) and it was indeed an amazing room. It was huge! The beds were super comfy - loads of large soft pillows and the comforter made it feel like I was sleeping in a cloud.
The bathroom was very nifty and there was a large walk in closet! The Bose player and DVD/VCR were a nice added bonus. The heater was a little loud, but not unbearable.
We hung out in the hip "Wetbar" and even ventured next door to "Cherry". Both very sexy lounges - but drinks run at least $10.
I loved this hotel, and the location near Grand Central was nice - also close to Times Square, but not surrounded by crazy touristy crap either, which was nice.
If you can afford or get a deal, you can't go wrong here. Very quiet neighbourhood - nightlife leaves a little to be desired. But I guess you can't have both.
An Expirence to Remember
My family and I just came back from the W Court hotel. It is in the PERFECT location! When we arrived, there was someone to help us with our bags. The lobby is very posh! At first, they told us we reserved a Wonderful Room, but with 4 people, that doesn't make sense. We booked an Urban Suite with our reservations months prior. At fist, there were going to charge us. I talked to the manager and she took away the charges, and our bell boy gave us a breakfast voucher to ICON, their restaurant, for the inconvinence. Day after day, the service was fantastic. When my family comes back to NYC, we will definetly stay at this hotel.
READ these ADS and pay attention!
I've read these ads and always thought of the poor souls whom would write them must have experienced some HORRIFIC event that was only directed at them - but MAN, was I wrong.
This hotel has receive good marks and bad marks - but I can't see why so many people would venture to say that this hotel is the BOMB...unless you're from a small town and such novice of hotels don't exist. Was this a MOTEL and refurbished by the W Chain?
Don't get me wrong, the W Hotels are awesome ---especially the ones out WEST (L.A., San Diego, Seattle). But this one doesn't measure up to normal standards.
No HOT water, HARSH stiff bedsheets, the air conditioner played its own rendition of the theme song from the musical "STOMP" Man was that thing LOUD! Granted, after several calls to the Whenever/Whatever, someone came up to suggest turning off the unit (so no hot air nor any cold air!).
I can only suggest to you to stay elsewhere, the doormen were not always present and the lobby personnel looked a little off key - perhaps the hotel is full of ghosts or it must have been a full moon this past weekend (11/21/03) but hopefully you have a better experience at the W-Court than we did! Oh, and by the way - don't eat the candy it looks like it's been there since Liberace was a boyscout.
Stay tuned, Antonio goes to Portland, Oregon next week!
Love the W New York Court!
I stayed here for four nights in September 2003, and I loved this hotel! Like the W Times Square, where I stayed in February, the W Court is extremely stylish, but much more intimate and friendly than the Times Square hotel. The bed is wonderfully plush, the bath accessories are by Aveda, and the DVD/VCR combo is great. The rooms are huge by NYC standards, and my corner room had a great walk-in closet. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the concierge. The location is good - close enough to Times Square and Fifth Avenue shops to walk, but much quieter.
Wonderfully stylish and convenient!
We stayed at the W Court for three nights at the end of August. The room was great...clean, more than enough space, and the bed was like a slice of Heaven, the service was extrememly helpful and curteous, and the location was perfect...three blocks from Grand Central. If you're looking for a hip nightlife scene, this wouldn't be the best location unless you're willing to cab it. But the bar/restaurant Saga across the street is awesome...great food/drinks served late! I would definitely stay there again.
Great Service
I stayed at the W Court for one night. The service was wonderful. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Very modern. I had originally reserved a "Wonderful" room which I think is basically a standard room. I went to the Starwood website which the W is a part of and signed up as a member. I then called the hotel directly and told them that I was a Starwood Prefered Member and had them upgrade my room. They did at no extra cost !! I then received the "Spectacular" room, which was great. Call the hotel directly because when I tried calling the Starwood 800 number, they told me they could only do upgrades upon availabilty at check in. I suggest that if you plan on staying there, you sign up the starwood website or go to the hotels website.
Modern & SOOO comfortable
This is a great hotel hidden smack in the middle of Manhattan! Spotless rooms, delicious mini-bar, LARGE rooms for NYC, and absolutely lavish modern decor--you could shoot a movie in these rooms! The gym is to die for, obviously made for people serious about their health w/ elliptical machines & CNN! Attached on the ground floor is a hip little night spot, and the staff looks like they fel out of GQ. All in all a lux living!
Very Nice Hotel!
Very nice hotel--exceptional service! - I spent 4 nights at the W in November 2002. It was my first visit to New York and after much Internet research my three friends and I decided on the W (court). First room we were given was very small and not too impressive.. the doorman helped my 3 friends and I to get an upgrade to a very nice suite at no charge!- The concierge went out of her way to give us suggestions on places to go and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We even ran into George Clooney!!---All hotel staff was very friendly--particularly the male staff!! I especially enjoyed the VERY comfortable beds (we had two Queen sized beds- one was a sofa bed) and the Aveda products in the bathroom added a nice touch!- I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to enjoy NY in a pretty laid back atmosphere.
