We woke from our kind of sleep to stunning views from the windows as the train neared Villach and the Austrian Alps. We had realised that we were close to the Rosental valley, so decided that we should have a quick explore before finding a campsite with the aim of finding some tacky Rosental souvenir. Spectacular mountain views from the top of the Reisseckbahn. First take a three stage cable driven trains up an incredibly steep slope following a hydroelectric dam pipeline, then a tiny train through a tunnel under the mountain. Lots of walks and restaurants at the top. Remnants of melting snow left here and there in hot sunny ...

... better. Paul and roo and Allegra opted for the stairs and we waved at them as we shot past in this super fast lift. The top was very cool - boardwalk style and you could see for miles and miles. We tried to find our next campsite on the lake you could see below but worryingly we could not see any!

All was going really well and I thought 'thank god the day is getting better'. This was a classic case of a 'spoke to sooner' as in this tower there is a ...
