... being so gosh darn vigilant and unreasonable (to me) on luggage weight, my husband thought one of the hand held scales would be a good item for me to carry. Supposedly it only weighs about 1/2 pound. we shall see.

Those are enough items to mention for now. ... my accommodation. The prices immediately nearly gave me a heart attack! It was $12 for a 7km ride ON THE BUS from the airport to the centre and only $10 for a taxi when split between three people.

As I came in it struck me what a strange town Darwin actually was. I dropped my bags off at my hostel and headed for Coles supermarket to get a cheap (so I thought) breakfast. I took my apple and cereal fibre bar to the esplanade to ...

Hellish hot

... the fees here are paid at an honesty box – but they were only $6 so I paid up – well for one of my two nights but probably one more than most campers. The swimming area was very easy to access and although quite busy there was space to swim around and helpfully there was a daily crocodile check! I did surprise myself by getting in to swim at all and even more so by swimming across the width of the pool as I a bit of a fearty (scaredy cat for you English readers ...

Down Under on the Top End

... Besides the prices, everyone keeps on talking about "The Build Up" this and "The Build Up" that so of course I did some more asking to find out what was being created. This term actually is all about the weather since Darwin revolves around the two seasons...wet and dry. People are anxious for the wet season to return with its heavy rains and cooler temperatures since right now it is close to 100 degrees, ultra muggy but no rain. The wet season is just around the ...

Bye Perth, I shall return

... though! Instead of heading out with others though, Craig and I went to a rock club- which we'd both been craving for a while! The next day I was 'ill' which was to be expected! Then I popped out to The Court on Saturday- feeling a bit too delicate to drink to much and only taking $20 with me. I was attacked/molested by some girl just off the plane from Sydney- Patrice and Neira were under the impression I was enjoying this though! Luckily I saw Fiona and was saved. Biatches ...

... location called Cliff Head which is a strip for camper’s right beside the ocean where you can park your caravan practically on the beach. The weather was around 20 degrees and you can buy rock lobster from the fisherman coming in with their day’s catch for $15 each so one night we had lobster on the grill.

On that mouth watering note! Day 92-94 Moore River & Gingin

... were red wined out that day... A stop at a roadside fruit and vegie barn somewhere past Waneroo then it was onwards to check out Yanchep and Two Rocks before finally arriving at the Moore River Bridge free camp we had identified as our overnight stay at 5pm, just in time to cook something up for dinner and go to bed. The camp site was quite a pretty spot beside the river but near the road, as we were on the smaller road north to the end of ...

Yes, this final, trip ending update has been a while coming.

As always it was nice to be home but it didn't take long before I was ready to head away again.

I didn't have too much time for reflection as uni started the day after I returned so I had to jump into work mode straight away. My first class was for International Perspectives of Planning, for which we will be having an international field trip later in the year so this excitement made for an ...
