In the morning Nancy and Dana planned on outing for us to Sabino Canyon, giving us a chance to learn a little about native plants and cactus. Kim and her little grandson, Brayden, joined us as we rode the trolley through the canyon. Saguaros, tall prickly giants, patiently grow for 60-70 years just to begin sprouting arms. Palo verde trees aptly named for "green stick" as they store chlorophyll in the bark and appear as green trees. ...

Christmas here was pretty mellow. We went to the Tucson Zoo to view the Christmas light displays before Christmas. Christmas Eve we attended a Candlelight service. Christmas day we had Christmas dinner at the Clubhouse and New Years Eve we attended the dance at the Clubhouse.
