After driving for about an hour-and-a-half, we arrived at the Zemaitija National Park in the Plokstine Forest. Surely you’ve heard of it.

We had a chance to take a few photos of Plateliai Lake, which was quite picturesque and unbelievably quiet. Other than a man walking his dog, we were the only people in sight.

And then, it was on to the missile base.

The house is quite large with a basement with coal/wood hot water boiler to provide hot water & heat the house though Tomas is putting in an open fire as well. ... temperature is in the low 20C's so days of 25C plus is a heat wave here! These houses - apartments are built to keep warm, not for cooling! We stopped off at the Akropolis Shopping Centre on our walk into Klaipeda Old Town. It's a huge shopping complex, like Marion, but with an enclosed Ice Hockey rink in the middle and restaurants around it for the spectators.
