... my (Grandmother) Oma was born in and lived as a child. Out the back was a huge old barn. After lunch we took a drive to Willemstad which is a very old city established in 1561 and has city walls built around it. It was built as a Garrison which housed military families. During WW2 the Germans utilised the city fortress and built bunkers on the river side. Lots of old buildings but also lots of luxury boats in the town ...

... Not really my cup of tea, as I don't like mayonnaise but apparently the locals are crazy for it. I think almost everyone bought some snacks here. It was my first experience paying to use the bathroom or WC ("water closet") as they call it in Europe, at a cost of 50 Euro-cents. We were allotted 45 minutes for our service stop so when the time was up we all headed back to the bus to continue our journey into The Netherlands and onwards to Amsterdam. ...

... age as me. As it turns out we both had completely the wrong seats. I just saw a 28 on my ticket and sat in what looked like seat 28. As I'm looking at the signs, I remember 'voiture' which is 'car' 28. I was in the right carriage, but not the right seat. This became apparent as more people got on and wanted their correct seat. After a quick SMS to mum (who speaks French) I had it all figured out.
