    Started the day, working!!! I know that is shocking.

    Today was the city tour.

    We met and started in the Grand Place. Our guide (in three languages) explained the history of the area as well as the use for many of the buildings. Some were guild houses (beer) and others were eventually residences. There now are shops and mostly restaurants and one big Starbucks (ugh). Not that I don't ...

    ... have had to wait for what seems like no reason to us. We went into the lock which had wooden piles to tie up to instead of a wall, which is the first we have seen like this. It had a fall of about 12” on to the old canal which took us through wooded and farming land up to the outskirts of Dordrecht.
