The Czech republic continued to impress. Although it was touristy, Prague was still stunning. Prague Castle is amazing and we spent 2 days exploring it's exhibitions, the gorgeous Vitus cathedral, Golden lane with it’s tiny houses, as well as seeing multiple changing of the guard ceremonies.

... all suffered a howler of a cold and had a few grumbly days, but flaming bins of Raku and the all right wood firing (nudging 1400 degrees at the bottom!) helped us rally. We toasted Czech sausages over a bonfire and enjoyed chapattis and wild fried mushrooms.

United as friends we rode back in Prague and settled into hostels and explored the city, catching up for beers and food each night until it was time for us to fly and bus back home.

We watched (and listened to ) the famous (1400's) Astronomical Clock chime the hour. One myth surrounding this clock was that the city burghers put out the clockmaker's eyes when he had completed the clock so that he would never be able to make a more beautiful clock for any other city!!! Possibly apocryphal!!

I also managed to pop into a Salvidor Dali exhibition that was in one of the local galleries!!


Its raining but Prague is still beautiful.

... morning with our guide in Lesser Town.

Gabriela gave us a huge amount of information about her city and the areas we had covered with lots of recommendations as to what we can see while we are in Prague. We will be exploring the Castle in detail on Wednesday or Thursday with our passes and are looking forward to spending Tuesday morning with her again visiting Old Town and Jewish Town.
