... downwind from the place where I rented the board. I had a heated discussion with the guy who rented the board to me, asking why he never told me there was a wind shadow out there. I shouldn’t have been mad at him, I should have been mad at myself (and I was) for misjudging the wind velocity and for my own lack of ability and general cockiness.
