      ... the border crossing near Kukes where the mountain scenery is excellent. Then we headed down through some old communist era relics which are not so scenic. We stopped in Tirana, everybody got off so we had the whole coach to ourselves.

      ... Arrived at hotel. Swam in the pool & had dinner. Really scary rooms. Alex and bens room with crowbar through door. None of the doors locked. Klodi said the man is still painting as there was an easel and a wet canvas sitting on it with a palette under it. And there were several new paintings that Klodi recognized as being new from his last visit. We could not take any photos though.

      The Tirana clock tower is only open to visitors two days a week - conveniently we happened to be there on one of those days. The ticket guy hadn't actually turned up though, but we asked someone sitting nearby who went off to find a key and let us in himself. No one asked us for the entry fee.
