Our honeymoon. We stayed at the all inculsive Wyndham Maya and loved it! It's more family oriented than couple oriented but it was still fun. We spent most of our time at the hotel but also did go on day trips to Chichen-Itza, Tulum, Xel-Ha and Cozumel for some snorkeling.
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico bkamYesterday was rough. It was a three hour drive from Majahuel to Playa del Carmen. We arrived around noon to our hotel, but our room wasn´t ready, so we decided to drive up to Cancun to return the car. We got to Avis and realized we had forgotten to fill the gas tank! So, we drove out, filled the tank and went back. It was then that they told us we could have returned the car in Playa del Carmen! So we had driven allllll the way to Cancun for nothing! Arr... We hopped back in the Jeep and head...

... and accommodating. We could just relax, walk around, check out the Mayan ruins and snorkel. All in all we had a great time and I would recommend this destination to anyone who loves Mexico or any newcomers, because it is such a great vacation. What is also great is that the hotel was cheap and I saved on it through the website that gave me a great hotel deal (www.sopriz.com). I couldn't find better deals anywhere else.
I went to the beautiful island of Cozumel last summer and had a great time. The website that I used was www.SOPRIZ.com and I was able to find a really cheap flight and a great resort hotel. The best part is that the hotel was cheap also. My family and I really enjoyed the trip and can't wait to go again and relax on the beautiful beaches again and swim with the dolphins. I wouldn't be able to go if I hadn't found the great vacation package at the website.
The next day I caught a bus from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen which is a resort town that has sprung up in the last 15 years to cater to the tourists that travel to the island of Cozumel. There is apparently some fantastic diving along the reefs around Cozumel, but for $70 USD for 2 dives (not including equipment) I thought I'd give it a miss.
Still I had a ...
... where the tourists stretch out on beds soaking up the cancer eating sun rays, bombarded with very loud reggae or salsa beat rhythms whether they like it or not. Fortunately we discovered that there were areas in between these clubs where the locals and penny pinching tourists like us can spread out, go for a swim and listen to the rhythms at an acceptable volume without having to pay, and it works a treat. These areas also seemed to be ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico thom_rm... just never happen in England; anyone over the age of 30 attempting to dance would be pointed at and ridiculed, a bunch of lads would get tanked up and start on anyone and anything within a 6 feet radius of them, a local bum would vomit in the middle of the dancefloor, everyone would have to get hideously drunk just to pluck up the courage to dance, and anyone who took a photo of a child under the age of 16 would be branded a paedophile and arrested. But anyway ...
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico elltrevTraveling from Guatemala to Mexico is like stepping into a whole different world. Everything seems so safe and secure here compared to Guatemala. People in Mexico seem so well off compared to those in Guatemala, when in reality they really aren't. My initial plan was to only visit Palenque, Mexico and then go straight to Chetumal where I would cross over into Belize. It was just to tempting to spend more time here. So 2 days in Mexico turned into a week ...
Tulum, Mexico whipmaster... the laid back atmosphere legacy. Oaxaca city is a tourist mecca and it is this, i believe, that has stolen the identity of the city. The school i attended was called ´Amigo del Sol´. I highly recommend it , as i do learning Spanish when travelling through Spanish speaking countries. just a few badly strung together sentences can open doors to new adventures. I struggled through my week of schooling and did learn quite a lot, but a month is what is needed to grasp the basics ...
