Our honeymoon. We stayed at the all inculsive Wyndham Maya and loved it! It's more family oriented than couple oriented but it was still fun. We spent most of our time at the hotel but also did go on day trips to Chichen-Itza, Tulum, Xel-Ha and Cozumel for some snorkeling.
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico bkamYesterday was rough. It was a three hour drive from Majahuel to Playa del Carmen. We arrived around noon to our hotel, but our room wasn´t ready, so we decided to drive up to Cancun to return the car. We got to Avis and realized we had forgotten to fill the gas tank! So, we drove out, filled the tank and went back. It was then that they told us we could have returned the car in Playa del Carmen! So we had driven allllll the way to Cancun for nothing! Arr... We hopped back in the Jeep and head...

... the rest of my three days diving and what superb diving it is. I see a nurse shark, octopi, manta rays and sea snakes. Over the few days I also mark up a personal best for deepest and longest dives but best off all I have my first night dive. So much life underwater at night, amazing capturing a moving octopus with the beam of your torch resulting in it glowing white and purple as it flows across the sea bed. Five of us come to ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico john.boyd.123... last thing on their minds. The dive sites were good and we saw a lot of reef life, although the main factor for us choosing Eco Divers had been we’d get to choose which wasn’t the case.

We also decided to try surfing while we were on the Island. This was much more successful than the diving. I had been in contact with Laura at www.cozumelsurfing.com about setting up a lesson with Nacho. He picks us up in his SUV which ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfran... shop owners selling their local wares. Walking the main pedestrianised road is like running a gauntlet. Everyone is 'your Amigo’ and I’m soon irritated. The beach is packed, every inch of sand is taken up with holiday makers.

There’s nothing else for it, we decide to go diving. Hopefully the sea will bring some peace. We decide to dive with a French Dive company, Mexico Blue Dreams, as ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfranTuesday! Danielle and I headed out for the snorkeling excursion out at Yul-Ka around Akumel which was pretty darn cool! Mexican Blue Dreams was the company that Danielle booked the excursion with and should anyone want a fun half day excursion, I would suggest them and make a request for Jill as she was our guide. Our first stop was the lagoon of Yul-Ka which ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico gildo... wall with ancient ruins rising above them. The only unfortunate part was once again, the crowds. Equally as populated was the iguana population throughout the ruins and the beach area of Tulum. Spent a total of five days here resting and relaxing, and starting to reflect on everything we´d seen and done in the past month. Its been an incredible journey, but we´re both really looking forward to making our way home, where I hear the weather is ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico plamodo... beach there. Driving in Mexico is fun. No matter how much of a bad-@ss you think you are in the US, you're no match for a Mexican taxi cab on a mission. So I spend quite a bit of my ride up 307 driving on the right shoulder. At 110 km/h. At one point I look up to see nothing but chrome in my rear-view mirror. I get over and a Riviera bus flies by me, with a second class bus on his tail. Suddenly I feel like ...
Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico austxdan... numerous times due to my general idleness and many a hammock! infact was held up for a week in Oaxaca (home of chocolate and Mezcal in Mexico) due to that wonderful Mezcal drink, I think one day I manged as much as 3 blocks away before realising I didn´t actually have to be anywhere so I returned to rest and think about my next move! Managed to see some beautiful places and historical ruins on my travels, the Aztec city of ...
Playa del Carmen, Mexico benp... seafans, and not just coral but manta rays! Then after pilling in, we visited a cave! We saw stalagmites, stalactites, and cute fruit bats! It takes millions of years for this cave to be a cave, so you can't touch them. That’s because you can stop (alto) them from growing. That’s bad!
