Signor y Signora are whistling as we walk past redundant farms and farm buildings. I know whats going through their minds - "that would make a nice conversion" - "Wow, I could do a lot with that!!!" Sunday, we travel into Slovenia and Croatia then return to Italy and Venice for Signora's birthday in early October.

... exploited the wifi. Already noticing how clean Slovenia is compared to Croatia, everywhere you look it is spotless and they are hot on recycling. Later in the afternoon we headed out of town to Postojna, where there is a famous castle and a gigantic cave which we will explore tomorrow. Having trouble finding a park we decided to drive to the castles car park, turned out to be a very nice quiet location with no one about to bothered ...
... Our day in Piran has been spent walking from Portoroz back to Piran approx 13 and 14 kms through olive groves, persimmon and fig trees (we did have to try a couple - v nice). Piran old town is full of narrow alleys all built around Tartini Trg . We had a wonderful dinner last night in a restaurant The Park - and this afternoon I believe some of us will swim in the Adriatic!

I was a bit surprised when my husband added Slovenia to the Eurotrip, I hadn't really heard much of it, except having broken away from the Yugoslav territory in 1991. But hopefully after reading this blog, you will consider it as a holiday destination.
