... How amazing. This arena became the home of the The Spanish Riding School with the Lipizzaner Horses in 1729. Anyway...the Palace was never looted and only one bomb fell on the actual building during WW2....and it was a dud...but it did destroy one ceiling in the building. Not much to report today. Full day on the bus. Left Venice at 8.30am. Wonderful sleep. We drove through the Dolomite Mountains. The scenery is just spectacular! Will arrive at the hotel in Vienna in about 1 hour... 4pm. Then off to the Viennese Concert at 6.30. I will finally get to wear my coat! Glad I don't need my boots!.... And we went on our way. Stopped in another town just over the border, and did a shop & got a cup of coffee. We finally got to a town, halfway towards Vienna, where we stopped for the night. ... photos! Eventually 6pm rolled around and we decided it was finally time to head home. We drove along the freeway whilst listening to 70's, 80's and 90's music the whole journey with our windows down - what a scene.
All in all it was one of the best weekends spent in Europe so far and we have decided a second trip is most definitely in order! Divine wine, gourmet good, amazing scenery, and fabulous company...what more could a girl ...

Many of the students come from countries where snow is extremely rare, and they displayed a child-like enthusiasm while gleefully whipping the snowballs at each other.
