... fancy schmancy hotel. I'm sure they think I'm a charity case. Oh, which reminds me of a quick tangent. This morning at breakfast I wore my yoga pants and a tank top with my flip flops. I was stared down like nobody's business. All the other fancy folks had Polo sweaters and YSL wraps. Wh-at-evs!
Okay, so that was my beach experience. Determined to find food, since I had found only a plate of roasted vegetables at the hotel tapas restaurant (though yummy, I was having carb ...
... my **** made me more than a little nervous.
When we got back to the house (which was incredibly amazing due mainly to a beer fridge and swimming pool) we were greeted with another couple of crates of beer from Tracy. If this wasnt amazing enough she then planned our route to Almeria, photocopied maps for us, gave us toiletries for the journey, cooked us an amazing Paella, and said we could contact her if there was any emergencies on route. What a hero.
... seen his face, there was no emotion, there was only shock. Alex was almost sick after taking a look. I suppose, on the plus side, maggots are high in protein and we had been doing alot of cycling. Swings and roundabouts.
When we finally arrived at Tracy´s we where greeted with a crate of beer. Perfect. After we were a little drunk we went on a mission for an internet cafe. The mission ...

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Would you like me to hose you down whilst you rub yourself" - Oliver Williams. (I would like to point out that he said this legitimately with no intention of irony.)
Highlight: We saw a shop which sold electronic products called Electrohouse
Lowlight: We slept on a beetle infested mound
... talent festival in Palomares and the people in all of these villages were very friendly! We ate at Dannys pizza in Palomares square and it was absolutely delicious. Actually everywhere we ate along the coast the food was terrific. When you're in Spain be sure to visit the coastal villages along Almeria.

Returned to San Jose. Next day drove around to the town of Cabo de Gata, saw the salt-pans, went up the the "Cape", saw the incredible beach of Cabo de Gata, had great lunch there, then went around to the beach at Monsul. Eventually decided I HAD to leave!!
San Jose, Burgundy, Spain travellerbruce... me €2.50 to park, I then paid an exorbitant €19 entry, and since it was getting on went and had an OK self-service meal - also over-priced. There wasn't much to see; a museum of old cinema projectors, old buildings, and a zoo. The latter was rather curious. I stayed around for the "shoot-em-up" show. About all that was worth it in an overpriced trip. As for the countryside, I was underwhelmed as it was nothing like as spectacular as the Copper Canyon in Mexico.

It's supposed to be the driest area of Europe, and is quite desert-like which is why they chose it as a cheaper location for cowboy films. But it's not as spectacular as the Copper Canyon which we visited in Mexico last year. I visited one of the "Wild West towns" and saw a shoot-em-up show there. Very expensive and not really worth the drive...The next day I went around to the town of Cabo de Gata, and beyond it ...
San Jose, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruce... for the Seinfeld aficionado) out of Spain. It is considered one of the wonders of the modern world and it didn´t´t fail to impress. I do have to start this thread with the description of what it took to get to Granada. It was a 14 hour day of nothing but travel. It was hellacious. We had to take 3 busses, 2 trains, and a FERRY to get from the southern tip of Portugal to Granada. It was our worst day of travel by far to this point and it left us exhausted by the ...
