Singapore Day 102 (Aug 30th)

... bronze structure surrounding a small waterfall!!! From here we headed back to our hostel, got showered, dressed and ready for some food. When we went outside I was blown away by the number of indian people around, they were literally everywhere, some in the roads. This was the weekly market which is every sunday evening. There were food stalls everywhere, selling weird and wonderful flavours and tastes of India!! It was amazing, it felt like me and Gabrielle ...

Singapore

... Spent our final day in Singapore dodging more rain showers back at Orchard Road, then onto Chinatown and the Botanical Gardens. The gardens were lovely, very relaxing and peaceful after the city. It seemed slightly cooler there as well - my favourite part was a large area of rainforest preserved as a reminder of the forest which, at one time, completly covered the island of Singapore.
We arrived at the train station an hour before our train to Malaysia - the ...

... of quick jerked movements as opposed to him being an "electrifying" entertainer; one's that you may find on the show Starlight Express for example) and he quizzed everyone. As it was a revision session, everyone had some degree of knowledge and it was nice being in an environment where even the consultants looked like they were learning as well. I was quite satisfied with myself when I got an answer right in front of everyone and all three of us were involved at some point (he would ...

Waiting, waiting, waiting

... to me and the other little ***** running up and down the isle.

But that is all in the past now, am in Singapore where it is a balmy 30 degrees and still light outside!! Just about to grab a bite to eat then a delightful 13.5 hour flight to London (oh and apparently no exit rows available on this flight - so will start drinking now!)... David Boon was 48 cans i think... sounds like a challenge!

Singapore River Cruise

... s contemporary history in motion when he stepped ashore on the northern bank of the Singapore River. It was his foresight that resulted in Singapore's development, with the Singapore River as its lifeline. The skyscraper skyline is really awesome & to get to see it by floating past it was something I'd never experienced before. Here are some online pics of some of the things ...

Ankunft

Singapore! Where did my money go? Oh I spent it.

... br>- Many many nice cars
- Variety of different people
- Great public transport. You wouldn't need a car here.

Tues Nov 6
Wake up at 4am. I went to check out and my heart seriously skipped a beat when I got the bill. I mean really, I felt my heart skip a beat. I paid, headed straight for the taxi and told him to get me out of here! Singapore isn't a bad place at all, but I feel once you've been there, you don't really need to go back ...

Spent a Week That Night

... is nothing more than an oversized Indonesian truck stop. My dinner ended up being an assortment of snacks that I'd bought that morning with Sarah and Desmond. I watched some F1 racing as it was the only channel in English, read my book, wrote in my journal, and went to sleep. My phone rang. (That's right, my room also had a phone). I mumbled a hello. Or maybe it was a "What?" Sir. Your taxi 6:30? "Yes I have a taxi coming at 6:30." I fumbled for my watch whose ...

Wakeboarding in Batam

... There were men fixing the road with picks (breaking up the road sections by hand)! We took a short bus ride to the lake and I could not get on the water fast enough. I was a bit rusty but was able to land my standard tricks easily. By the time I got warmed up and wanted to start trying some fancy stuff, I was dead tired. I guess 5 months off takes its toll. In any event I ...
