We awoke to driving rain in the morning but Brianna was not deterred from a soak in the hot tub. I could sit in my comfy chair watching the sheets of rain blowing in the inlet. Headed to Tofino for our 11th year. Although the waves were a bit small this year we all had a blast. The weather was warm and sunny most days. We liked to surf after most people have gone home hence...6:30 pm till dark...therefore dinner most nights was pretty late but wow what a feeling.

... a huge group of Sea Lions sunbathing on rocks. Further on we passed several Sea Otters - these were probably our favourite as they just lay on their backs with their feet in the air, then almost wave at you as they dive down out of sight.
Wildlife spotting over, we moored at a small jetty after about 90 minutes or so on the boat. We then had a 40 minute walk along boardwalks through a temperate rainforest to get to Hot Springs ...
... back, into a very strong wind. Welcome to Tofino. So worth it though.. watching the surfers do their thing.. couples young and old, families with kids, others with dogs, some on bicycles which was interesting to watch in the wind.. all there to enjoy the sand and the surf, the beautiful vistas, etc. It surprised me how peaceful it was, even in the wind. After our walk we cleaned up and then started to make our way back to Victoria. Thanks Greg and Tracy for the great weekend! ...
