My first hike was 7 miles roundtrip from the far west side of the GC at Hermit Trail literally straight down the unmaintained steep trail,1,040ft elevation loss, to Dripping Springs. Today was a beach day. We headed back into the city to explore Coronado Island, which sits in the San Diego Harbor. To get to the island you need to cross over a beautiful, long bridge that rises high over the harbor and gives the passengers an amazing view of the city. So I handled my flight well - some what better then I thought I would. We sat next to a lovely elderly man who was headed home via La to NYC. We both managed to sleep for a few hours here and there but not enough to be bright and sprightly when we landed in LA at 8.30 am ( 8.00 pm or so to us) but we managed...to be fair Don managed.
