... I can see myself living here. Lots of tourism it is possible! Dropped off bags, headed to the street mall (suprisingly all the malls in aus seem to be outdoors, quite unheard of back home, with the snow and all not a great idea). Had supper, a 10 dollar steak, can't go wrong! Went back to hotel to change and shower and got dressed up to hit up a club. Walked down and none of them looked happening (it is a monday night) so ended up going back to hotel to watch tv.
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia allyworldtravel... come. I do have a very strong interest in relocating, Yep, looking for somewhere to live, currently Cambodia is looking good as it does not have the Visa issues that Thailand has and from the people who live there that I have chatted with on Skpe, it seems to have a lot to offer. I would love to add some photos of trips to Thailand but I think I will make this blog from now moving forward. Welcome to join me on this journey Bruce
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia ozziebruce... hugely popular city with a huge beach and skyscrapers. It actually reminded Thomas a bit of Las Vegas (although he hasn't been there). This time of year is time of schoolies for Aussies. Schoolies are students that just finished school and go in large groups to Surfers Paradise to booze up and have a fun time. The first night at SP, we dressed up and went out for a fun night out. First, we went to a very popular show, called Draculas ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia camtonz... pretty irate people at that. So
much so they had to have 2 drivers on board for the driver's protection
from angry customers. Seriously. Apparently this has gone of for a
while and it's a bit scary to thin what it will be like next week, as
it's Queensland school holidays starting today and the parks will be
bursting at the seams. Glad I'm taking off to be honest.
Finally got
back to the hotel just after 4 and headed straight for the spa. spend ...
... was well not so good for me.... lets just say the 'Goon' kickd my ass the night before ( the goon is a cheap wine here that all the backpackers drink when they start to run outta money, its cheap and its got some kick, 8 bucks for 4.4 liters @ 11.5 % ) so sunday was not a very productive day... we just beachd it. Oh on the brighter side of things we COOKD the othernite, yup some pasta, i know were pretty ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia drod_wood... In this part of the country, serenity and Australian animals run wild. We headed out from Brisbane quite late in the day for the sleepy little village of Canungra. This would end up being our mountain base camp for the next two days. We arranged our travel gear, ready for the mountain climb (er, drive) up the perilous slopes. This consisted of some fuel for the car, a bottle of water and some trail mix. On our hour long trip ...
Canungra, Queensland, Australia tumbleweeds... all night drive we did not have anything booked). Damn, they are all booked up except for a $90 hotel room for two. On top of that the attendant at the hostel/hotel we want to stay at is the ************* in the whole. If body language could kill this guy would be the master ASSassin. You just wanted to reach across that table and smack the dang taste out of his mouth. Reminds me of someone I used to work with that rhymes with Camel ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia mcdonkeyburgers... The hotel, 'The British Arms', was the only place in Surfers that was not fully booked tonight. That fact alone should have raised alarm bells - if it's not good enough for brain-dead teenage yobbos then there may be something wrong with it. We make it just as the reception is about to close and Jane and I are in separate dorms, so we split up. My six-bed dorm smells strongly like old socks and BO and all of my dorm-mates are currently all out on the ****. This ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia jambo... etc. The whole day was pretty much confused. Around 2 I headed home to change into the batehrs to sit in the sand by the lagoon and be warmed by the sun. Yeah, life is rough here. This whole winter thing. Only problem is the sun goes down earlier, but it still gets nice and hot! Tonight's plans include looking through the travel brochures I picked up today for day trips and eating dinner, and probably sitting around the TV. Nothing huge, just the way I planned it. I did want to go see ...
Brisbane, Australia hamblce3... headed back east to her home province of Henan Province where I spent a week relaxing on the very beautiful Jigong Mountain, which surprise to me came filled with European architecture.
