Day 44 and 45: Amazing hospitality and naked beach

... my **** made me more than a little nervous.

When we got back to the house (which was incredibly amazing due mainly to a beer fridge and swimming pool) we were greeted with another couple of crates of beer from Tracy. If this wasnt amazing enough she then planned our route to Almeria, photocopied maps for us, gave us toiletries for the journey, cooked us an amazing Paella, and said we could contact her if there was any emergencies on route. What a hero.

Day 43- Maggoty chickens and Naked Beachs

Air raid sound. Thats how we woke up this time. Although, no air raid, just a noise a near by factory makes every now and then. SO, considering I was up early thought I would go for a run and I ended up getting chased by a massive tractor and saw a flat dog. Nevertheless this would be a good and, hopefully, normal day because we had planned to arive in Vera where we would meet Tracy (one of my ...

Day 42 - Introducing, QUOTE OF THE DAY!!

... and the Spainish.

Anyway, we were soon off the motor way and back on our loving country roads. The best thing about country roads is that there is always loads of fruit growing and today we managed to score some, normally expensive, melons! AWESOME. Definitely the best stolen fruit yet. But then we hit a serious mountain range, no clouds and a 40 degree heat. Honestly the ...

The best villages& beaches on Costa del Sol. OLEY!

... to a grocery store Consum and they had everything you could ever want to buy and more. Then we headed for the beach in Palomares Quita Pellejos. The sand was dark but the water was blue and it wasnt as crowded as Garrucha or Mojacar. The best beach was Mojacar white sand and blue blue water and very warm. There is a boulevard that runs along all of these beaches and it is lined with restaurants and souvenir ...

dragged myself away from San Jose

I had to wean myseft away from the area, and the next day just drove a bit up the coast, past more un(der)-developed beaches at Escullos and El Playazo, and ended up staying in Las Negras, another fishing village which is sleepy by the water-front but with massive construction going on behind it.

Back to San Jose

Returned to San Jose. Next day drove around to the town of Cabo de Gata, saw the salt-pans, went up the the "Cape", saw the incredible beach of Cabo de Gata, had great lunch there, then went around to the beach at Monsul. Eventually decided I HAD to leave!!

discovering Cabo de Gata

... of Arabia). It's supposed to be the driest area of Europe, and is quite desert-like which is why they chose it as a cheaper location for cowboy films. But it's not as spectacular as the Copper Canyon which we visited in Mexico last year. I visited one of the "Wild West towns" and saw a shoot-em-up show there. Very expensive and not really worth the drive...The next day I went around to the town of Cabo de Gata, and beyond it ...

Slow in the sun

... though, we should also tell you about a gigantic beach party we went to, for the St.Jean Baptiste day, Spanish style, which meant lots of people of all ages on the beach late at night listening to everything from Cuban music, to 90s mtzzee-mtzee dance music, to 70´s rock, all the while drinking beer and red wine eating free fried sardines, smoking copious amounts of cigarettes (and other substances) and lighting gigantic bonfires. All in all, quite a party!

... that... So...the flight!!! My parents and I arrived at O'Hare at 1130am. My plane did not leave until 6pm! We hung around there for a while. We were stopped by a short Indan woman as soon as we entered the Duty Free store with a demanding, "Can I see a boarding pass?" Why do you need a pass to go into the duty free store?!?! Stupid America. We steered clear of her after that and looked in different shops in the airport (of which there were not many). My dad saw a ...
