    ... trying
to capture the details as they went whizzing past. I felt some genuine discouragement
and concern about the near future as my energy declined with a slow recovery from illness.

Yet I am sure that being in this nurturing place in Tuscany has

Amazing lunch - highlights were the 1986 vinsanto and sorbet inside the fruit (see photo). Visited Ravazzi cantina where we had 5 bottles opened just for our tasting - trying 10 in all. Bought a very nice red as the first in the collection for Sienna. Very light dinner tonight!! Sleepy after too much wine ...

Earlier this week it turned to Autumn. One day it was warm (but overcast), the next it was half the temperature it was the day before and wet and cold. Nasty! After dressing warmly in jeans, a vest and a light thermal (for me), we drove to Bettona which is about 13km from our house. We forgot, as we have every Monday, that nothing is open. Undeterred that the first restaurant that we went to was closed, we walked through the small village into the town square and spied ...
