... il campeggio è nel nulla più totale, come deve essere :-) si devia da una strada che già di suo è nel nulla per addentrarsi di qualche km fino ad un laghetto. Qui c'è la casa dei proprietari e il camping che ha un area verde suppongo per le tende e una decina di stugor da 3 posti come la mia. Waking up in a cabin in the Arctic wilderness in late winter is chilly but is an amazing experience. So far each day has been great but today was really my best so far.
Breakfast was not too shabby and consisted of bacon and egg with ham, cheese, bread, yoghurt and coffee! How about that? The dogs got their usual fare. My job has been to scoop the gruel into the dog bowls. Its quite fun. You stand there with this bucket full of the food and a spoon made ...
... water from a still running hole in the creek (its our source of water too) and then heating it in a big boiler in the dog kitchen. Then using an axe to chop up their frozen block of reindeer meat it is added to hot water and then some special high energy sleddog dried food is added. Then each dog gets a big scoop of what amounts to a sloppy stew.
Five of us took a little walk and found 3 igloos that had been built close by. Thankfully I don't need to sleep in one ...
... silence that came was erie, all you heard was the skid of the sled against the snow, everything else was completely silent. It's quite special actually...as long as you forget about the numbing cold and occasional bumps that seemed to happen far more often than you'd like =P. It really was beautiful though, and even more amazing when you look ahead and all you see are the dogs and the pink/blue sky...just wonderful.

The train was pretty empty for a couple of stations, until we connected with a train from Stockholm and we were inundated by a huge group of young adults complete with packs, mats, skis, stocks, shovels and goodness knows what else.
