Sterling Vineyards
It was so nice to wake up and not feel rushed this morning! As a matter of fact, we were able to do something we have not done so far on this trip. Tommy built a fire and we cooked stick biscuits for breakfast. Yum!

The Grapes of Wrath

Joanna and I learned that this house and land was previously owned by a reclusive former veterinarian who literally kept her doors open at all times, allowing wild animals like boar, sheep, goats, raccoons and birds to enter and defecate as they please. Horrendous, as Joanna would say. This was astonishing news, as in the true remodeling fashion of Lexi, the house was in amazing condition, ideal for this occasion.

The Night Before
... from our June 2009 trip to the Baltics. Since then our only major venture away from home took us to Tokyo. That trek was back in December 2009 and was as close as we ever get to a "spur of the moment" vacation. Truth be told, we planned the Tokyo trip in August as way for me to cross the 100,000 mile mark on United and get 1K status for 2010.
