... to win the 'World' series (actually not so much the world as the US, we are forced to remind one or two guys) and every bar and restaurant has multiple screens showing the action; all around us fans are shouting arcane instructions to the deaf ears of the players.

few places that we should not miss. We found a Wal-Mart and went in to
pick up a few things. As we walked through one of the isles we came across the wine
section. Well, wine here starts at $1.97 per bottle for most California wines and a 4L jug of Julio Gallo is only $8.99. We don't know how good these wines are but we can’t make it for that back in NS.

... results came out, no one could believe it; both winners were California wines. Chateau Montelena C******nay 1973 was the winner for the white wine and Stag’s Leap Cabernet was the winner for the red wine. The movie Bottleshock reenact the story of the historical event. As I was there, I dropped a thank you note to the owner, Mr. James Barrett, after he sent me a beautiful bottle of wine sometimes back.

... of talkaholics shut up for a second and just stare in wonder. Even I stopped talking, I was so stunned by it.

As usual with these sorts of places, the week was made great by the people I was working with. There was Felicia and Billy from LA. As well as both being very easy to get on with and down-to-earth, Billy also has an IQ higher than possibly everyone I've ever met, barring one mate of mine. I forget to ask strangers to take a pic of us together and even though I think to snap one of the man of few words once or twice, he doesn't think of it (go figure - he's a guy) and so you are going to be seeing some of him but few of us unless I remember to accost perfect strangers for their photo taking ability (put down the doobie and I might remember, right like that's going to happen).
