Off to see the Spruce Goose
... catch the ferry from to Alaska.
We will now be travelling to Alaska on our own as Bjoern had an off and fractured his radius and ulna. He has undergone surgery in California and now has a plate and pins in place. They have cancelled their booking on the Alaskan marine ferry and will continue towards Mexico when given the OK by the orthopaedic surgeon. Our thoughts are with them both and hopefully they will be on the road again shortly.

Our tickets (complicated as they are) were about $800 per person all told. I have heard of someone getting them for as low as $400 (and when I heard that I started smacking my forehead repeatedly) but when I searched initially they were about $1,000. More soggy Oregon
... t do much. Mid afternoon I did go to World Market for wine- They had Bogle Cabernet on sale. ($8.04 a bottle) I took my time and wandered up and down the isles just looking. I am starting to think Christmas gifts! Phil called several times today - he is enjoying the White Mts and Alexs’ shacks. These are the tiny cabins, like you might find along Route 66 in AZ. They are not open to the public anymore and are beginning to need repair, but still usable and fun to stay in. ...
