    Our last full day here and I'm up early before kids and walk to the swimming hole to see if I can spot the duck billed platypus. No such luck but a 100cm fish swims to within a metre of my toes and feeds so shallow you can see its dorsal fin right out of the water.     ... the rapids down stream. The flies that pepper the camp are a right PITA and pretty much the only downside. We drive to the dam 20km away, this is even more remote but it has internet so I can order contact lenses to be delivered to our next stop, it's these boring but important things we now have to factor in when you're this remote from shops.     Hi all from Stanthorpe Queensland

    Arrived here yesterday afternoon (we are about 40 k into QLD) and will be leaving heading towards Brisbane (about 270 km to go)

    When we left Dubbo we made our way north through Gunnedah and Tamworth to Armidale where we stayed 4 nights

    Did not stop in Tamworth as basically a larger city (would stay if the musical festival was on)

    about 4 am I awoke... ..... it was raining... yippee...no bike stabs to my heart this morning..... never been so happy to be camping in the rain...

    Damn shame kids.....but lets go down for a swim....Yay... they said....in unison..... but kids were in the mountains... the water is gonna be ...... Too late they had headed for the water.....

    ... valve clearances on the old girl were also adjusted...they were way out... apparently..... should have left them where they were because we were so under powered....... that a heavily laden Toyota Tarago overtook us as we climbed Cunningham's Gap. So laden it looked that it was trying to fly.... full of rather large islanders.......
