At that point I offered to pitch in for the balance of her costs (she was only 20 anyway). Regardless, we couldn't find anywhere to stay and it was getting late. Stan didn't want to stay In Cape Town initially but I talked him and Irene into heading back since there were ample cheap and safe places to stay. We ended up back at the good old Amber Tree lodge and I was so happy to get that comfortable bed ...

They were then taken over by native people and freed slaves, and have remained in that general possession until recent conversion and infiltration by modern white 'yuppies'. Attractive liquidation prices for aging blacks, in the range of $US150,000. to $US200,000. are also attractive buy-in prices for younger whites, for renovation and downtown living.
