We got to see the Lime Stone Quarry, where the political prisoners (including Mandela) were made to excavate the ...

... had a fire going when I walked past in my towel and underwear. They were shocked that I'd gone paddling alone and were very worried that I was going to walk back to the lodge with no flashlight and no shoes. They invited me to have a drink by the fire with them, which I took them up on happily, and then I convinced them that I would be fine and I continued on my way.
