    ... the storm last night! So, you see I wasn't over exaggerating at all. It really was the bad!! Today I drive through some horrendous floods, again grateful for the super chunky tires that meant faithful Lily took it all in her stride again. I couldn't have been prouder of her today as she battled through raging storms and raging rivers across the road. I'm now stopped in almerimar and tucked up in an English bar with a coffee and wifi! Spain isn't all sunshine and seasides you see!! ...

    The next day was even worse on the anchorage front. We were planning on having a fairly short day, so we left late, only to find that the spot we'd selected was right behind a headland with 20 knots of wind gusting around it, straight into us.

    Saturday 13 Sep 14 – A very bright start to the day on entry to Almeria in Spain. The port has an imposing fort immediately above the town – La Alcazaba. Built in the 10th century by the Moors, it now has very attractive gardens built into its interior. It was never meant to be palatial and acted as a defence against attack.
