Had a wonderful afternoon exploring Castillo de Sant Barbara (hugecastle/fort at the top of hill in Alicante) and listening to some of the 3 Reyes (3 Kings/Wisemen) festivities from the top of the castle. Tonight the 3 Kings (Wisemen) arrive! There were huge celebrations here in Spain. We could hear a marching band and see signs of a parade and huge crowds from the top of the castle. Later we saw on TV lots of celebrations all over Spain with kings and beautifully dressed women ...

... make it. But we did! And we took our picture and looked at the city and how much we love it. We meet Maria afterwards (photographer) and instead of picking 15 pictures, we bought them all! She did an awesome job and captured such a special moment we just had ...

Mercado, Corte Ingles, Plaza y siesta

A travel blog entry by wishopeace on Nov 08, 2014

We woke up around noon and went exploring past La Rambla. We went to see all the fresh fish and meats at Mercado Crentral, bought some turrones for gifts from a charming, jolly old man at a kiosk. Then it started to rain so we sucked into a Lizarran and had a couple of pinxtos for lunch. We kept walking and ended up at Plaza de Los Luceros. We then went to el Corte Ingles and a charming little ceramics shop were we got a couple of gifts. Then it was siesta ...
