Thought it was going to be a relatively quiet night, as even though the camping ground was in the city, it was a fair way from the main road, but just as we were about asleep, fireworks started up for some unknown reason, and then it started raining!! You can't win them all! Earplugs and eye masks on – what fireworks and rain?!

It was very interesting learning about the Forest Brothers, a partisan group who fought the Soviet occupiers after the Second World War. ... attached, but a number of other stores have their own amber museums. Exhibits show how amber is made, the different kinds and colors, and various amber articles from mundane pipes to elaborately carved clipper ships to the bizarre bound edition of Mein Kampf replicated in honey-colored amber and finished with silver lettering and swastika clasp. We looked at a lot and managed to weed through and decide on a few gifts.

Back to the grind this week....for two days! I obtained a position today editing and writing for the Lithuania Tribune, and online news source for English speakers both in Lithuania and abroad. Pretty exciting stuff!

... referred to as Zeppelins because of their shape. A type of dumpling made from grated pototoes and usually stuffed with minced meat. I must say it may be on my been there, done that list, but I don’t see any more in my future.
