... up for a few hours if you arrive early and can't check into your hostel yet.
- McDonalds is not such a legit place to whole up if you had KFC for dinner the night before.
- Getting yet more fast food for a late lunch cannot be justified.
- Making a salad for dinner balances all of that out.
- Vilnius is pretty.
- I'd never heard of this city until a few days ago.
- Walking tours are still fun.
- There is no shame at sitting down ...

... can be amusing at times. After exhausting my book shop options, I decided to climb the belltower of St John of the Vilnius University. Scoffing at the option of taking the lift, I clambered up the old wooden stairs to get a panoramic view of the city from 80 odd metres up. Climbing down was at least easier. With an early bus to catch tomorrow morning, I had an earlier than usual dinner at Lokys before making my way back to the hostel and getting to bed earlyish after packing what I could.

... s a 1915 rendezvous in the works.

Shower, computer time, a bit of Vana Tallinn and pix downloaded. A light drizzel started to fall, the sky a blue/grey mix. Chilled until the 1915 rendezvous.

Some of the English were afraid of the rain! Fortunately it tapered off and roomie, Kevin, Tony, Lardass, Heather and I went walkabout. Heather had done some earlier reconnoitring re restaurants.

... a bunker that was used in both World War I and II - and has been converted into a museum commemorating both wars. There is a small entry fee however and I had no Lithuanian currency, so I first stopped in at a random shopping mall where I found a bank and swapped out my Polish for Lithuanian.
