... a mere $2. The only caveat was that our flight landed at 8am, and the Maafushi ferry only departs once per day, at 3pm. So we had 7 hours to kill in Male- and let me tell you, a tropical island nation's capital is not very interesting. Take away the sand and palm trees and beach vibe, and replace it with concrete and cars and ugly buildings. But keep the oppressive heat. That's Male!! No interesting sites to speak of. We spent a few hours just sitting by the water chatting- ...

... docile creature doesn't even flinch. It's the biggest thing around and it obviously knows it. As I catch my breathI look up and there they are about a dozen black tip and Grey reef sharks mere meters away blissfully unfazed by my presence. As the current carries us on we pass the “domestic airport terminal” of white tip after white tip (sharks) lined up side by side sleeping along the bottom. Taking flight a group of six eagle rays glide past us blocking ...

I really haven't seen this many stars in the sky, ever. The dinner options are few so we had steak and chicken, about $75, which is better than the $75 per person buffet I guess. It was good food though.

Tomorrow is more beach and pool.

... The island is so is like a beautiful garden surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal clear water.....UNBELIEVABLE. After our tour we were shown our room....or hut I guess is more appropriate. IT IS AWESOME! It looks exactly like what they show in the pictures and our hut is the one that is shown on the website! In the front of the hut we have a large deck, plunge pool, and views for DAYS! Inside we have doors ...

I'm knackered. But up and out by 6am. Another submerged pinnacle. With a red frog fish! Yay!! Love them. Here there was a lot more soft corals than previously, and a lot more small fish. Today is a race to get to a good mooring point. Heading from South Ari Atoll, up into North Ari Atolls. By around 11am, we were at our mooring point for the night - Fesdu lagoon. We were second to make it - and got a good spot. (Later on in the day ...
