      ... l'Esprit Passion Tannat (2012 I think) which were both from Domaine de Magnaut. There were two bottle of the Tannat which tasted remarkably different, we think the second was better and that the reason was this was from the wine store where the former had been kept in the warmth of the restaurant - interesting observation.

      Then it was on to our next port of call for an Armagnac tasting - well it had been half a day since we had our last one!

      ... was sold (particularly of note were the lovely plump Scallops which had completely sold out!). The only purchase I made was some Pruneaux d'Agen or Argen Prunes which are delicious and good for you in equal measure - the seller was dishing these out to eat which drew us in and a large bag of the black king of prunes was purchased.

      A couple of Café Noisettes to sharpen me up in a busy café and we were off for a gourmet lunch!

      ... demolished a plain croissant AND a chocolate croissant before hand!). We then headed to Chateau du Biron and had great fun climbing the towers and the parapets, marvelling at the thickness of the walls, and the beautiful parquetry floors in the suites.       ... the bloke holding up and waving the dog's paw as we pulled away on the green light. Arrival - we had no real idea how to find the place as all we had was the hamlet and the house name. None of the locals knew anything about the house or the local manager. In the end Jo recognised our new temporary home from her memory of the picture on the booking website.       ... me down! I just can't believe it, as I am parking up a man comes and looks incredulously at me, it's Martin and Heather from Keswick in the Lake District who I had met way back in Saumur over a week ago, how on earth does that happen, especially as we had been going in different directions? It was really good to see them again and we got a lot better acquainted.


      I also met Lester in his Hymer he is slowly making his way back to the UK ...
