This was also complimented with an amuse bouche of creamy parsnip soup (also with truffle!). The soup was smooth and silky, the ravioli and foie gras topped with a sliver of parmesan and truly melt in the mouth, the Zander which is a Pike-Perch fresh ...

Dinner the previous night was at Restaurant La Halle in the picturesque bastide village of Jegun. Great food and wine was consumed although for the life of me I cannot remember what I had to eat! After returning to the hotel at a reasonable hour, it was straight to bed for me!

Also our getaway from Albi was thwarted by police having cutoff all access to the main bridge out of Albi, requiring us to do some brilliant navigating (by moi) to find an alternative route. Not sure what we would ever have done without 'City maps to go' with its off-line satellite mapping which tells us exactly where we are, and which direction we are going! ...

Visited the lovely Chateau Monbazillac to learn more about the other famous wine of the region, the sweet Monbazillac. The chateau sits high on a hill overlooking the valley and it, like many others, is surrounded by acres and acres of vineyards. When we stepped out of the car we could smell the heady aroma of fermenting grapes, and we noticed that ...
