Today was mainly a travel day to get from Split down to Dubrovnik in Croatia. I arrived to the bus station where it was raining. Was able to get on the bus and we were off. I am not fond of bus rides, but was able to sleep through most of it. The views were nice as the drive was mainly along the coast line. So beautiful rocks/trees and water - but more curves than I would have liked, but just tried to sleep through it. Arrived at the bus station and forgot to look up ...

It was 11am when we started and I think we got back around 12.1pm - and I can tell you it was pretty dam warm by then. On our way up we met Sam and Steph coming down - they hadn't ...

Also at the top of Mount Srd was Fort Imperial which had an exhibition on the Serbian and Montenegrin aggression against the Croats and in particular Dubrovnik in the early 1990s. The exhibits were in ...

... in more former religious sites we walked through the Franciscan Monastery Museum which was a medieval pharmacy which still serves residents in the old town and the Dominican Monastery Museum (used by the wealthy residents of the city) while the working class residents attended the Franciscan Monastery. Onofrio's Big Fountain was used in the Middle Ages to bring water from the mountains over seven miles away. The fountain still works today and is a great place to cool down ...

DUBROVNIK, Croatia

... guides with us. Already miss these guys. Day two here we set off and did the ancient city wall walk which takes about an hour. Nice to be looking at the Adriatic Sea while climbing the steps but what a view of red roof tops and old historical buildings. Love the skinny alleyways and marble pavers . We ticked off most of the must see attractions. Walking around we found little, quaint alleyways that ...
