    ... the water next to our hostel it wouldn't've been a question of IF I'd gotten infected, but WHAT I would get infected with. Travel luck really seems to be on my side so far. With that in mind I settled for a purified water shower, and made sure all my meals were non-fish based. The only toxins I want are alcohol based. Speaking of which, I had 5 liters of tequila from Tequila I needed to break into.

    ... I was offered a cleansing by "una bruja" (a witch) using white magic. So one afternoon I went to her home with an open mind and a hopeful heart. I was rubbed with a lime and a strongly perfumed oil (was I marinated?) as prayers were said.

    Then alcohol was poured in a circle on the kitchen floor before it was ignited and I was told to hop into the middle of this small blue ring of flames where I barely fitted. The fabric of my skirt billowed in ...
