Ok, here I go... This is the blog page for my trip to South America. For those of you bored enough to log on, I will try my best to keep my blogs and pictures up to date. I'll also try to keep the material interesting. Tomorrow is the big day and I am quite excited, why ...
San Diego, California, United States christian.rodas... Palestine to France and many more. My kids especially are looking forward to attending some theatrical and musical performances by the San Diego Junior Theater and San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. And yes I forgot to add, the best part is actually free visit to all the museums. For two days visitors can visit all the museums free of cost in Balboa park. Now isn't it icing on the cake.
We decided to cross the border back to the USA. From our last drive through Mexico I remembered all the locals walking up and down between the stalled cars trying to sell food, blankets and other random items. They are definitely still there! It was a great way for me to get rid of all my change, since I can't exchange it anyway. I bought a creme-filled pastry, not sure what it was, but I do know ...
San Diego, California, United States alifebeinglivedWe drove along the coast to Cantamar. As we were driving along we saw this statue in the distance. We couldn't tell what it was, but as we drove closer we started noticing what it was. Our conversation went like this:
"Is that a giant Jesus statue?" I asked.
"Um..maybe. I think it is!" Logan said.
"It is, it is ...
... enriching and rare experience?
Taking a deep breath, the answer is yes.
I am enjoying myself but would probably enjoy my time more if I stopped thinking about the things that I am "missing" back home. And I'm not "missing" anything, really. I'm just doing something else.
I have put myself out there but I think there is more to me that I could be exposing to others. I just need to reel her in from Concordia's grasp. And in reality, Concordia isn't really ...
Hi everyone- We made it to Veracruz today. We are camping next to the beach in a beach resort parking lot. The drive today was 110 miles over mainly rough roads. We arrived after driving down the Gulf of Mexico coast about 2pm. We spent the rest of the afternoon drinking beer, and eating raw oysters, and shrimp ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kjmyers... too facinated or you the big wave coming in and crashing over the breaker will creep up on you. Let me tell you this is really fun if it happens to someone else. The same joy like throwing pigeon food at other people on the Piazza San Marco in Venice. Throw, hide and watch what happens :) After gaping at the seals it was time to have lunch at Jose's Court Room. Food ...
San Diego, California, United States schlossie... real sleep. Later that morning we caught our first real breeze which lasted all the way to Veracruz. By mid-day everything had changed. The wind was coming up. There was a new sense of excitement in crew. There is something magical about that point when a boat dead in the water is compelled into movement and the crew scurries around to ready her and take their stations! We were coming up to Veracruz and the wind was cooperating ...
Veracruz, Mexico lavidanueva... of America. We have freedoms that others only dream of. Freedom of speech-can you imagine having that taken away from you? The right to have a family of any size you wish. The right to choose your occupation. The right to an education. I have a family who loves me, and friends who look out for me. I have access to food, clean water, and money. I have the opportunity to hold a job. I can do pretty much whatever I want. I live in a free country. That phrase never meant so much ...
San Diego, California, United States wishyouwerehere... playing it. We saw old married couples and pre teens all dancing. One couple was maybe 10 or 11 years old. She had on a beautiful red dress with lace and knee high red socks with mary janes and a red rose tucked behind her ear while he was lookin´pretty sharp in a white guayabera, black trousers, and black and white patent leather shoes. It was adorable. They took it all very seriously too. After that we walked back to the hotel to get ready for tomorrow.
