... again and turned around to see a little face with an expression that Amanda acurately described as saying, Iīm touching you, and thereīs nothing you can do about it. The worst was that she would start singing loudly and her mom would say, how beautiful! Sing it again! Gaaa.
But we survived our encounter without resorting to exorcism and arrived in Manuel Antonio. Itīs amazing how beach towns the world over are kind of similar. This one had lots ...
... park. Juan is an excellent guide. He knew how to look for the animals and we saw all kinds of them. We saw crabs, sloths (about 7 sloths both 2 and 3 toed), toucans, iguanas, caymans (like a small crocodile), Basilisks (lizards that can walk on water AKA Jesus Christ lizards), a very large rodent I don’t know the name of, geckos, parakeets, and a stick bird. It was all great.
Grandpa a Malesa stopped at the beach. They were ...
... The canopy walk was really interesting, despite not seeing a great variety of wildlife, we did see some coatimundis, a couple of evil poisonous tarantula wasps and plenty of bromeliads. So, onto the ziplines. We'd done this once before in South Africa so the initial fears were already well dealt with but this outfit did some slightly different things. After the first three lines, we did a rappel. Face up, vertically downwards, we dropped about 20 feet in two ...
Manuel Antonio National Park, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica sonandjim... I had to be up early because I was going on a Mangrove tour. I wasnt really sure what to expect, but I had hoped that there would be crocodiles because thats the only animal I hadn't seen yet. And we didnt find any, but we saw tons of crabs, lizards, and monkeys. They were the white faced monkeys like the ones in the national park. We took bananas and we were able to feed them, and they were so funny because they would hop on the boat and take the ...
Manuel Antonio National Park, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica bell.costarica... the complete opposite scenario of what I had anticipated. A sea of people in line and zero organization. I was already starting out my trip with a bad attitude since all original plans were basically out of the window. We would now have to wait four hours upstairs in Terminal 6 along with the rest of the passengers. Oh joy. Missing our connection out of Houston meant that we would have to overnight in Houston Texas care of Continental Airlines. They ...
San Jose, Costa Rica bekahlewis... Park were all the animals u want are gazing at you (all but the damm Squirell Monkeys) and I relaxed a lot on the beach as it was one activitiy I really wanted to master before continuing the trip. The hostal was on the beach and we were happy to stay late watching the stars and running after crabs ..sound idyllic huh? It was, it has been really cool to be able to leave the backpacks on the ground for 4 days as we ve always been on the road after 2 days every time ...
Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica nrt_coulton... sugar, beef consumme, mayo, mustard and ketchup. They were *really* good. And, sadly, I found out yesterday that the restaurant I've come to frequent more than the others serves one of my favorite desserts. (It's my favorite because the waitress fawns over me a bit now that I'm a regular and calls me "Mi amor" -- my love. So, OK, yes, she does call everyone that, even the 60-something-year-old guy I brought there ...
Orosi, Costa Rica greenhousevt... en japones. Y a veces estoy usando las palabras japones. Por ejemplo, he usado la palabra japones "namae" en lugar de "nombre." Tengo suenos en que estoy hablando en espanol y en japones. (Still at times I'm thinking in Japanese. And sometimes I'm using Japanese words. For example, I've used the Japanese word for "name" in place of the Spanish word for "name." I have dreams in which I'm speaking in Spanish and in Japanese.) Ja ne. Ciao. See you later.
Orosi, Costa Rica greenhousevt... Spanish classes. I stayed and studied at Montana Linda and would recommend it to anyone wanting to take some classes. I hadn't spoken the language in a few years and they did an excellent job bringing it back. The hostel was also very laid back and a good place to stay. One thing about the mountains and valleys in CR, they are cold! I was expecting it to be hot and humid everywhere here but it dropped down probably into the low ...
Orosi, Costa Rica adamwipp... goodbye here and hello England. My Spanish is helpful and makes being here this time a lot easier than last. I am moving to a nicer place (at least hot water and not a shower shared by 20 others) nearer the airport so I can get a shower and a good night sleep before the plane ride tomorrow. That will be my big purchase in San Jose and I am going to enjoy every last drop of it. I hope everyone is doing well. love, Melissa
