    ... But couldn't resist big lunch that our friends Begonia  & Percy offered. So after a few Don Simon Sangrias, went home to watch Tour de France .  Tonight prepared mussels & linguini  July 11 Saturday need something cooler to wear, but it's too hot to shop ! I rested in air con while Simon snorkeled and drove to Calpe to local bar to watch ladies tennis final Wimbledon.   July 12 Sunday stayed in apt . Catching up on Brandi things. Simon off to see ...

    ... Altea, Alicante (N38 34'40" W0 3'54"). An ACSI site, initial thoughts are, it is a bit big, but, it is right on the beach, so, we will reserve judgement.

    Altea is the next town north along the coast from Benidorm, but, it appears to be quieter, or, more boring, depending on your point of view.

    We'd booked our second week's respite at the "Oliva Beach Resort", some distance South of Valencia.     The chick follows the mother around, making cheeping noises and sort of fluttering it's wings in a pathetic way, until, the mother relents and feeds it.
