It was already dark now (it gets dark at about 4:30-5pm), so we hitched a ride on the Vaporetto back into Venice to call it a night.  We made a brief stop at the St Maria of Salute Basilica which we hadn't had a chance to see up close and headed back to our hotel. A very wet day as forecast so very glad we got the long journey out the way yesterday as the sea state looks very choppy today. After a trip to the airport to clear in and become legal we take a hire car and head to Grada. An old town in the flats that we had thought about sailing to but given the weather we thought better to go by road! A tour of Monfalcone followed and we managed to get an Italian sim so we have wifi ...

Now we have a few weeks to explore Italy and Slovenia before heading ...

... to Venice. It's about 2 hrs but we're camping on the spit opposite called Lido Di Jesolo. The sat nav lady & Paul fell out in the way and so the journey took closer to 3 hrs! I was driving, they were arguing and it all got a bit stressy! Anyhow once we got back on the motorway (that P insisted we didn't need to take - you pay, you see, and he is tight!) we made it to the site we'd hoped for. This place ...
