When Blake was done, we wandered deeper into the city's maze of narrow streets, eventually finding our way back to the city center where the market was winding down. We ate lunch at an Italian inspired restaurant (Trieste is less than 30 km away) with tables in the city square before returning to retrieve the mini-bus.

We packed up and headed out on a shorter drive this morning - this time the end destination is the Adriatic coast, but first Laura found a castle that hits all the right notes in the guidebook so we are going to stop there on the way. ... did find a little excitement at the airport! As we meandered down to our gate, we happened by a duty free shop that was offering free samples to any interested customers. We were surely not interested in any purchasing - but we were darn interested in the free samples! Shots of Dewers Scotch (aged for 12 years) went down pretty well . . accompanied by some yummy chocolate candies! Would you believe the Jojo downing ...

    ... Anny overspend.

We made it to Murano first. This island is famous for making glass and we window shopped and marvelled at how expensive such items could cost. And how ridiculous that it was mostly all aimed at tourists when really, to transport these fragile beauties would most likely end in nightmare. Anny bought gifts for friends back home. They were mostly all these Murano glass ink sets with pens. In retrospect I really wish I'd bought a few because ...
