... the strait that separates Italy from Sicily, the Strait of Messina and that was very picturesque. Lots to see on both sides through the binoculars. My parents went to La Sila, a large mountain range, for picnics as children, so we decided to spend the afternoon there. The views were breathtaking (and nerve wracking) on the way up, but we made it! Today was the reason my family came to Italy! We met friends and relatives of my mom's, including my 87 year old great aunt Marietta who cried happy tears when she saw us. They are all such warm, loving people; they instantly hug you tightly and make you feel like you're home. We toured my dad's hometown and saw the house he grew up in.
