Enroute to Crotone, stoppped to look at the local cemetry. With the high walls and mausoleums, a city within itself.

Arrived at Cutro, a small mountainside village scattered along the face of the mountain. No big castellos or defensive walls, just a village on the side and top of the mountain. While admiring the view from one of the towns piazzas, were approached by a cheerful gentleman who then proceeded to give us the third degree while sharing information about his village. ... hoping that the sign that advertised the hotel was current, and that the hotel was actually open. The gods smiled upon us. The hotel had once been a mighty resort, though now the rugs and furniture were showing signs of old age. It was apparent that the resort section would struggle to recover, as though June was only 2 weeks away, much would have needed to be done before holidaymakers would contemplate staying.
