Travel Blogs from Bibione
Ciao from Venice finally!
... but hard without keyboard. We are staying in fantastic private house in Venice right in a beautiful canal. Owned by an architect who has travelled all over the world and furnished his apt from his travels. Pictures to follow. Weather fantastic for last few days , blue skies and about 50 high so very pleasant. Might rain tomorrow but are traveling to bologna so not a problem except for ...
Caves and Prosciutto: Ljubljana, Lipica & Piran
... Slovenia the country it is today. That night we went to the coast, Piran. It was really cool once we climbed up to the top of the hill we were able to see the entire city along with Croatia and the boot of Italy! It was so neat.
We explored the city, visiting the various shops, and headed back to a new hotel on the coast because it was more convenient than going all the way back to the city. We were suppose to go to the salt fields but we ran out of time. ...

We had a local guide for a few hours who took us around the main sites and the narrow alleyways. Wonderful to hear the history from a local guide...if I only ...
Verona and Padua
Today was Verona and Padua. Verona, with its Roman Arena from the first century A.D. where, ironically, they were setting up for a huge concert this evening featuring Adriano, a popular rock group. The inner wall quite well preserved through the centuries and a small section of the outer wall still standing. Verona of course is where Juliet's famous balcony was, although not according to scholars. Again charming town, colourful, lots of history. Our guide is great, ...
