Camp Croatia

... the hours until the next meal, trying to occupy ourselves... so I have been working on summer internship applications and reading this great book called Mountains Beyond Mountains which is about Paul Farmer.
Well, that's all I have to report, I'm not sure when my next blog will be, probably not until after Ireland, so around December 15 I would assume.
All the best!

Recovering

... he is asking me if I am ok every minute and wont let me get out of bed to do anything. We have spent three days just doing nothing in the room but on sunday we went out for a walk and I seem to be getting better at one point I think that I wanted to come home but what difference does it make being here or at home. We have some sunshine now and I can just relax.

I have slept for nearly 14 hours ...

Disaster Strikes!

Today was hell, I am writing this a few days later so just to let you all know I am much better now and will post the pics so you can see the damage when I get to a computer that lets me. I will explain what happened.

We got up and had decided that we where going to leave tomorrow as planned and move on to somewhere else so as the day was a little cloudy and raining Ian said why dont we go to Pula ...

As we said its getting colder now so we decided not to do much today as we both wanted to relax anyway after the hectic few weeks that we have had in Turkey greece and italy. So we just went for a walk in the harbour and had a look around its another pretty little harbour town with some cafes but its still really different from Italy. We found a supermarket and as we wanted ...

Nude Beach and Water Sports in Rovinj

... joked around for awhile, Jeff suggested that we go up to the sundeck as we cruised into Rovinj. So we got dressed and headed topside. We didn't end up going directly to Rovinj, but instead anchored near a beach and island off of Koversada, a few miles north of Rovinj.

The guys were a little nervous about going to a bare beach so we first pulled out the water toys nearby and played around in the ...

Yes, 10 years after the cease fire.... here I am

... came around, I gave him a 50Euro bill, he gave me change, and I was on my way!

The ride was good. A lady across from me was from finland, therefore, she spoke English. We chatted awhile, about this and that. After only a short time, we entered Slovania! WOW. Only for a short time (they have a very small presence on the Adriadic, like about 30 minutes worth). We stopped for control, the ...

1st stop in Croatia: Rovinj

Rovinj is set on a small peninsula on the Istrian coast of Croatia, which is famous for its fine wines and truffles. Photos of Rovinj have appeared in advertisements and international travel publications, and it's one of Croatia's most scenic small coastal towns.

The medieval old city is a tangle of narrow, steep streets and steps leading ...

Travel Tip: Dont fall asleep when crossing borders

... then blurted out "Passport!" That is when I realized where I was and who I was talking to. She looked at my passport and then smiled as she returned it to me. Before putting the passport in my hands, she asked "How was Kenya?". I told her it was beautiful. After that, she got off the bus. When I got to Pula, I knew it was going to be difficult to find my hostel. Right off the bat, the directions I had didnt make sense. I had copied them down from the hostel's web site and ...

Pula, the 3000 year old city...

... providing information! We saw the Roman amphitheatre, which is 2000 years old... The security guard there was very helpful and he talked to us for an hour or two in Italian and broken English (hand gestures really do work!) Then in the afternoon we headed out to the beach... It was a relaxing little break and we ate well! Sam cooked some amazing food! Thank god that he can cook, because if it was up to me, we would starve! Cheers

Whirlwind Croatia

... go into this stuff. I wouldn't eat it again, but I am now happy to say that I at the head of a pig. We chatted about things and I got a new perspective about how Croatian people consider themselves and the countries/people around them. After dinner we watched the film Snatch and retired for some rest. Unfortunately, I had to leave and I couldn't spend more time with them, but maybe I will revisit Zagreb before I go home and go see them again. Now it is back to Germany.
