... the Carbiniery –highway patrol. The first time we have ever needed our international drivers licenses. Very serious faces and assault riffles kept our giggles in check until we got the all clear. Much laughter in the bongo van as Guido explained that in Italy there are Irish jokes but the Irish are substituted with the Carbiniery. Anyway time to visit a winery and taste some Vertmentino ciao ...

... I have learned to expect the locals zooming around the hairpin turns unapologetically inching into my lane while I clench the steering wheel of our little rental Lancia, the gas pedal floored, going only 50 km/h. ... a head shade at a cost of 5 euros. We settled in for an afternoon of people watching and knocking back the African sand to sand salespeople, do you know the blokes go around selling what they call bikinis (really just a tiny bit of material) and the girls try them on right there and then! The water is too cold for most people but not for the Don and M-L but they are not in ...

... Debra Hughes Welcome Folder - all 55 pages of it - another story for another time. A beaut spot under the shadows of the cathedral and castle walls overlooking the ocean and the very important landmark just offshore called Brown Island. Shared the area with a few others including ma and pa, 80 something's with an English accent, ma tall with trackie daggie shorts, how do I know and why is this important I hear you asking - well it goes like this. I decided to do a little exploring down ...
