... we took the train to Bordeaux where we had 10 mins to change trains. Turned out to be a bit tricky as there were a lot of people getting off our train with bags, same as us, and a lot of people on the platform waiting to get on the train with bags and a bit of pushing and shoving required to get through. Then a quick look to see what platform our next train would be leaving from, down the stairs, along the passage, up the stairs to. ...

... spot, quiet, shady trees on the side we're moored so we're feeling a bit special. After our picnic tea, Rob and I walk up to the village, about 800m away and it's beautiful. As its on a hill the views of the surrounding countryside are magnificent and the houses in the town are well worth a look. The favourite past time tonight seems to be sitting on the side of the mooring spot, dangling feet ...

... keeper there to keep an eye on proceedings. Our last lock for the night was the first one heading downstream. We've been travelling upstream the entire journey so far, until now. It's all down hill from here! Now that we're moored up, we have a bit of an explore. ... Rob's tickets are cheaper than mine as he's riding on 'senior age' tickets. It's a bit funny. Saved us 5.60 euro! That's one whole coffee and change! Not to be sneezed at. We checked in at 4pm to a beautiful little B&B called Maison Arlene. Only four rooms and we've booked three of them. We walk back to the station to meet Gary and Sue off the train and while we're doing that, Doi, James and Jo message that they've arrived at the hotel. So ...

First I have to say that I travelled first class from
Barcelona to Toulouse. It was pretty cool, nice big leather chairs, radio and
then later they played a movie. Gemma, Hector and I got there fairly late,
between 9:30 and 10:00. Dana and her friend Theresa (who is also doing this
program) met us at the train station and we found a bite to eat. We “got to”
watch T.V. that night for a bit and get a taste of what French television is
    like. We ...
