Yesterday we were fortunate to be directed to a car park with quite a few trees and hence our car had shade, but today we were directed to a car park with no trees at all and about 1km from the entrance. While walking through the parking area we counted 50 buses. (When we left the Park at about 5.30pm there were about 60 buses!) We can't even estimate how many cars were parked. ... Le Signe du Triomphe, which was all about Roman times, housed in a colosseum type building holding thousands of spectators. The whole show was in French but it was so visually spectacular that we understood the gist of what was happening. The show included the use of live animals - horses, camels, buffalo, geese; but not so sure about including lions, tigers, leopards and hyenas. The show included a stage rising from the centre of the arena as well ...

... trucks were having a break. Only one toll ticket for 3.5 hours and as we got near Nantes we came off to go to the lovely town of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu we had to pay €51.50 for our days work.
The drive North was ever changing because very soon we had left the vineyards behind and soon encountered huge fields of barley many already cut and straw baled and removed more with combine harvester parked up ready to roll.

... motorcyclists they were - well today we were cursing at these two cars who refused to move out of our way and at 120km we kind of needed them to - guess what - the two offending vehicles were British drivers in British cars!!!
Having said all that when we decided to stop for something to eat we indicated right and moved to turn right - someone over took us as we were due to turn and someone under took us on the grass verge!!! Interesting!

... and must have been quite scarey if they were advancing in their armor, masks and helmets. Pretty big exhibition and by he time we got out bit late for lunch, but had a bit of a sit and then down to the moat and gardens. At one time the castle had mot on three sides but the fourth was surround by the river Loire. Out for a beer, and then decided on something different for dinner and went for a curry! Turned out to be very good, not spicy enough ...
