... 8230;…quelle horror, the first time we could not park where we wanted to! So back to the book and plan C or D by now to find another nice aire at Prefailles, on the outside of a campsite which meant we could use their showers and toilets, goodoh. Again quite full but we found a space and after some lunch went for a walk around the area, all countrified and not much else.

... no sign of life anywhere. The houses from Niort back to Fontenay were seemingly empty with shutters closed and no lights on.

Where do they go? Please help! We can't work it out.

It's a couple of days now since our Nantes and La Rochelle museum trips, with a day to Les Sable d'Orlonne as well - and a visit to a museum of contemporary art there, so the deep thoughts of the darkness in men's hearts is starting to wear off.
